I figured that I'd update, since we're at episode two of mostly everything...
Hatsuouki Reimei-roku lost my interest quickly. I'm fine with that despite being a fan of the series altogether. But the lack of a sub group picking it up discouraged me, as 90% of the raw doesn't make sense to me.
Tari Tari is so-so. I guess it depends on the taste in series. If it was just a bit more like
CLANNAD in regards of comedy and planning, it would be more interesting. But, alas, I dropped it.
Le storia della Arcana Famiglia lost my interest. It bores me a bit. Although episode three was a nice spice to it... I dropped it because sub groups don't bother seeding it anymore. Streaming sites are also not keeping up with it very well.
AKB0048 ended perfectly. Am I the only one thinking that this show had better pacing than any of Kawamori's recent ones?
And a second season is confirmed for 2013, so don't think that he's left it completely yet. He might still work on it even whilst doing the 30th anniversary. So I'm suspecting that horrible pacing of shows is to come. But that aside, all the bright lights confused me, yet I enjoyed hearing the extended version of the OP and ED being performed in concert, almost the same way as their respective OP and ED poses. However, I hope they explain some things next season. BTW, Nagisa's father is both a moron and a great character at the same time (same personality as my father...
)
So I finally got around to watching
Code Geass, the TV series. Am I the only one who thinks it should have a movie? I get there is the Black Rebellion and the Zero Requiem (which fill the "movie" aspect), but a full-fledged movie - like a complete retelling or alternative telling of the story. It seemed to end too fast. But even so, I enjoyed it. I nearly shed tears at Shirley and Lelouch's death but kept at it until the end. Now I'm looking forward the OVA featuring Nunally and the 4-part OVA series premiering this fall.
The only series left with even a speck of my interest that I've watched so far is
Sword Art Online, and that's only because of the artwork. The pacing in this show is ridiculous. Hello,
Guilty Crown all over again with episodic events and time skips (or in this case, level/floor skips). I'm so lost right now in this series... Damn, I wish I could read Japanese. I hear the light novels would explain everything. For now, I like Kirito, and I'm upset about Sashi, but Asuna is a given. I'm already shipping Kirito with Asuna based on the OP; but this could be the animating companies choice, just like with
Air...
