Hey guys, a little question here: has there ever been a video game starring Batman or Spiderman made by Japanese?

I somehow got this idea of how nice it would've been if there's an action-eroge game or dating-sim starring Batman/Spiderman getting other female heroes & villains of their own universe. You know, like Telltale but with a bit more focus on the romance and more story options and routes? That would've been a lot better than reading (sloppy) fanfics.

I swear if such a game exists and is well-made, fans will be all over it. Given proper marketing and common game platform/household console, it'll probably sold out by pre-orders alone .

Closest thing you will get is an action title (some do exist) and Marvel vs Capcom.

But I doubt you will ever see sims. One of the reasons being, both superheroes are too fantastic, and by fantastic I don't mean awesome, I mean unrelatable.

American comics aren't that popular in East Asia. They are actually relatively difficult to acquire through non-web means and rarely translated.

^ But what if the Japanese made those superhero dating sims mostly for US/west consumption (English Dub and all)? That was my idea.

Cultural differences tell me that would be an impossible task...

^ Yeah, that's why it's a wild idea. Somehow it just came to me. But I bet fans who love fanfics would cry tears of joy if they can get such (mature) games. I mean, imagine playing your favorite Batman ship/route in an official game wth legit story and with the voices of the BTAS cast. And there will be some mature scenes too to spice things up. Obviously, the game will need cooperation & input from native US citizens who know how the world works back home. Basically a Telltale Batman game with the romance and multiple routes cranked up to eleven.

All I remember, is that my first experience with Spiderman was a Toei produced tokusatsu show with giant robots and flying cars... or something...

It never played on TV, or anything, but the VHS market was always booming with bootlegs and stuff.
Jaspion and Changeman, tho? They were REALLY BIG on TV, when I was a kid, here. That started a tokusatsu boom that lasted quite a few years, and made people like the guy from Jiraiya something of a cult personality, down here.
I've even seen him, last year at a local con, here. Very cool guy, with a nice singing voice.

One thing which really annoys me to no end is that everytime I try to look up something about comics on Youtube, I get a ton of right-wing channels who whine about diversity in comics. It's probably because the existing fanbase of superhero comics is by now pretty aged up and traditionally white guys, but, man, it sucks.

Then again, there seem to be an inordinate amount of "white guys complaining about diversity in entertainment" channels on Youtube, anyway. And if you somehow get plugged into the algorithm of Youtube (for example by looking at dozens of reviews of The Last Jedi) they keep popping up in my recommendations, no matter how often I give feedback that I am not interested in those channels. Bloody hell.

Trying to be (a bit) serious for a second, tho, Youtube's recommendation algorithm kinda sucks. I've given up trying to suss out any kind of understanding of that, quite sometime ago. And it's a rabbit hole I'd rather not go down, at least any time soon - specially since I'm a parent that does try to monitor (somehow) what my kids watch, for a change. These days, that's a very difficult - and, sometimes, complicated - task.

I can sympathize. You watch one video of a certain kind and suddenly lots of them keep popping up forever, while other stuff you watched in the past disappears into the ether. It's really a bit mysterious and annoying.
