Just got started on the Division Beta. Yea, I think WOWS will be taking a back seat for a bit...

I just started playing Xcom 2 last night. I have to say, my initial impression of the game is a very positive one. In fact, after completing the first mission, I conclude that this game is simply awesome. AWWWEEESSOMME!!! Oh yeah...

I have heard of the Xcom series but never played it. Looking at it now. I need something to preoccupy myself before The Division launch.

There is nothing to dislike about Xcom 2. Its basically 1775 or Freikorps in the 22nd century. Love it!

Sadly Amazon sent me my Steam code only when the game unlocked, so no preload for me. Hence, I only did the tutorial mission. More impressions coming up during the next days, now I gotta go work in two hours. -.-

The Division open beta is this weekend. Hoping for more expanded content. I an eagerly awaiting the gear grind and weapon customization options!

Is that the game where you hole up in a post office?

Its basically a 3rd person shooter RPG with missions and the like. Think of it as Destiny in NY.

So I am about lvl 21 into The Division. Routing out gangs and the like through the city. Lots to explore and take in. And my my how the gun configurations are very accurate. I think I will have to get a Kriss Vector after all this is done...

One of my friends (who is also a gun guy) showed me this. And it is shaping up to look fantastic. I guess it will have RPG elements, but one of the big items, is how realistic the weapon configuration will be. From, sights, lights, rails, accessories etc. I am interested to see how they pull it off.

Well one of my friends a who is a complete MAC only user (also works for Apple) finally built himself a PC. And the only thing that could get him to do that, was because he was an original Oculus backer and so got the newest gen Oculus for free.

I remember trying out VR in the 90s. Back then it needed a high power computer, a whole room and roof mounted sensors and you had to stay stationary. At best it was polygons and wire frames. Impressive for its time, but nothing like it is today.

Having tried out the current high resolution Oculus on EVE: Valkyrie, OH MY GOD. VR has come along way, and it still has some ways go to gain mainstream acceptance, but I can honestly say, they have finally worked out the motion sickness issues with high resolution goggles, frame rates and responsive head movement.

Playing a space fighter combat sim with full 360 movement on every axis while engaging enemies in that environment, took a little getting used too. But the ability to head track and following of the enemy through your cockpit in all visible directions, virtually eliminated the motion sickness issues associated with goggles in the past that only had fixed point vision.

I could only dream the potential of having this in a Macross game. SAO V.01 is here folks. And my wallet is looking dry for possibly building a system to support such a device...

I know DeusEx goes as far as the early 2000's, but I only got into the games via the last one Human Revolution. Now this one set to continue were the last one left off, gots me drooling.

I really enjoyed the cyberpunk setting the last one was set in, and this one looks to take it to another level. I am hoping it plays as good as it looks.

Well, I think my Springfield 1903 needs to come out with me to the range tomorrow to celebrate this one!

WWI FPS? ... I don't know man, history tells me it was never that exciting.

I think that is the problem of the forgotten war. It was grey, trenched, and not celebrated or reviled like WWII. But it does not mean that there probably was not enough crap flying for people to get action.

And given that Battlefield is more than just a foot fps, that alone already allows for more flexible varied game play.

Well, if the game wants to be realistic, it'd show lots of soldiers being stuck in trenches, getting pounded by artillery and dying of trench foot.

Yeah, lol. Thats why I'd rather prefer a WW2 sim, and we get cool marching tunes to go with that
