If they even use abit of magic for whatever reason, they would want to get involve to stop Academy City from spreading the Imaginary Number District and wiping out magic from this world. If for some reason your faction is 'against' magic, which I don't see how, they would want to help out to accelerate the process.

Their current existence revolves around protecting the Truth until either God tells them to stop, or the world is ready to receive the True Gospel, not the one dictated by the Roman Catholics. The Amakusa of the West in some ways, but otherwise dedicated to the protection of the Ark of Royal Blood.

This is where it gets fuzzy. Firstly, what is the state of the Ark now? All I know she is a creature of virgin birth and has continued to do so every half-century for the past 2 millenia. What does she represent? I wanted her to represent the Truth and the Omnipotence of God. What does that mean? Another Imagine Breaker? Or an agnostic representation in the form of an incomprehensible paradox that shows that God can create things that destroys itself and yet not be destroyed?

See why I had the idea canned for a long time. If I coudln't work it out, I couldn't see on which side of the divide they would end up. In theory, they'd aide Science to destroy the orthodox churches, then turn around and tear Science apart with the Truth, thus representing the paradox completely. But because that completely defies explanation (which is the entire point about not being able to comprehend God's work) I don't see how is that even going to fly.

You could... Simplify it to just the few key points and ignore the minor details

Okay, list down three things you want from this faction.

1. Concealment, protection of, and dedication to, the Ark of Royal Blood (Arca Saguineus Regalium), the true descendent of Jesus. A being of virgin birth, cycling every 50 years, for the last 2000.

2. These guys included every single work of Christianity in their faith and subsequently their magic, including whatever the Roman Catholic church called non-canonical.

3. Knight armor (Ephod of Solomon) and handcannons (Sling of David), while armed with glowing weapons (The Sword of Moses) for both close combat and casting.

In that case, they would side with Magic side. Because while they don't know it yet, Aleister is going to make Christianity obsolete, probably even best their God with someone higher than God.

And so, tensions rise, as the Ark tells them to remain as observers while each Science victory makes them ever uneasy. After WW3, a small extremist cell launches their own attacks against Academy City.

At the same time, Academy City is putting together a Task Force to deal with future threats from 'outside organizations that don't follow the same laws as them'.

I don't know the status of the [Freshmen] after New Testament, either they were all completely wiped out, or that was only a single Cell. Either way, the best way to win is to avoid open confrontations and resort to small, covert terrorism.

Yup. An excuse for a small group of knights to move in, wreck havoc and clash head-on with Freshmen. The city would be wondering how did the Knights of England become this competent overnight.

There's an interesting line from the Afterword in the New Testament Volume,

"Science and technology continue to advance and so what was cutting edge yesterday may not be so today. "

"This is becoming a world of the functionality of machines vs. the ingenuity of humans. Which is stronger and how long will one side’s superiority last?"

As it implies, one day even the concept of a Level 5 would be out-dated.


About the new cyborg-Esper, normally her power is base off Accelerator's vector targeting, she can create 3m long compressed Nitrogen spears from the palm of her hands. And she only has two hands- So what did the crazy bitch do? She cybernatically implanted hundreds of bio-mechanical hands, as long as she is controlling them, her Personal Reality recognised them all as HER hands. Effectively increasing her offensive capability by a factor of hundred.

The Testament supercomputer is a machine that can directly input data into a person's brain. You know that thing they do on the Matrix? Yeah, that's how they pilot some of their more insane machines. They literally just understand every thing.

As it stands, the HsF-00 aircraft have laser weapons- as in speed of light laser. The HsB-02 bomber have a giant blade of rotating Iron sand that can slice through the ground, leaving a trail of magma in it's wake. Railgun is probably their cheapest weapon, as everything will soon have them. I don't know about Mugino's power, but I assume it might be the same as those Orbital Laser satellite, but those weapons can also be used to microwave an area...

Oh but for sure, they're currently harvesting Dark Matter particles from Kakine's brain, and have successfully use it to create weapons.

Lol, there's one more quote in the Afterword, "The theme this time was technology that goes beyond a certain scientific line and the book was basically powered suits and a cyborg rampaging around."


I think what makes Kamachi's machine more insane and powerful is that he makes them do things that are against convention. Take for example the bulky Power Suits [Large Weapon] that we're all familiar with from Railgun, aside from the usual strength and armor, they are infamous for their superior than human movement and balance. The joints were moved using electric power and the flesh-and-blood human inside was given mobility anywhere from twice normal to dozens of times normal meaning The artificial legs moved much more smoothly than a real human’s would have. Then there's the Hyper sonic fighters, which can reach up to speeds of 7000km/h and perform ridiculous things such as flying sideways or spinning like a top. Or their tanks, that can travel 150km/hr through SNOW.

Oh I see now. Take standard cutting edge military technology, or those being envisaged and developed, make them real then remove the limits on them. That's how Kamachi's been cooking up all these look-normal-but-crazy machines. Pretty boring though, given that everything is then extensions of what we already know.

Usually it's their moments that have been pushed to the extreme, but I wouldn't say remove the limits on them, just the common concepted weakness. For example the AC Super Tank, somehow most people have the impression that tanks are slow moving, well AC's Tank can blaze a trail through snow faster than a normal car on road. Anybody who watches Top Gun knows how Planes are suppose to move- Well try one that can spin on it's sides. Power Suits are expected to be unbalance, well these move faster and more agile than humans.

But the easiest way to make your machine feel insane? Have the characters themselves admit that it's crazy Dragon Rider is so fast that the user needs a power suit to grip the machine while it's going 400kph (Not top speed), at the same time a human can't breathe under those conditions so the suit has to compensate for that. Also at 1000kph, everything becomes a blur to the human eyes, and the testament like computer of the power suit directly inputs all data into the rider, allowing him to control the vehicle.

Hey Kha, remember some time long ago I talked about Ollerus and his power is to create and [Unexplainable Attack] ? Well apparently I've completely underestimate what it is meant by 'unexplainable'.

Imagine an attack that you completely cannot assign any values to or give any conditions; you don't know it's type, power, speed, timing, size, distance or direction or what it damages. You can't dodge or block, because you don't even know which direction it's coming from, or if you could even avoid it after getting tens of thousands of kilometers away.

It can do anything basically, though you could explain what it damages after it hits you.

The [Absolute Territory] defense of [Personal Reality] is starting to look more and more necessary...

Well I wasn't specfically looking out for it That piece of information just so happens to appear in front of me. I was causally looking at Ollerus profile on the wiki when I saw that quote about the scary power of the [Unexplainable].

Hey, do you still follow Nanoha Force (Not necessarily read) ? While working today I've had an idea from a oneshot crossover with Touma fighting Tohma ala the scene from vol 20 where he took on Black Wing Accelerator, but in this case he's trying to snap Tohma out of it

Not going to work, if only because Thoma is from a later Era of magic than Imagine Breaker.

But that's just my theory after comparing magic from ESP from Imagine Breaker in the background of the Holy Trinity and the Big Bang held together by the string theory.

Sure if he was using normal magic. But he had to convert his life energy is some unknown form of power, making the whole thing even more unexplainable.

Also, no single Esper's AIM field or Personal Reality is strong enough to disrupt magic.

The limitation of Personal Reality, while unexplainable to us, is completely understandable to its user. every little change is a rational calculation according the laws that are bent in his PA, in other words, EVERYTHING he does is explainable, in-universe to him anyway. every use of his/her powers to attack or defend can be explained a certain mechanism of how it works, in other words, while defending you know how it works, you know how to get around it, you know how to penetrate it, how to make it stronger.

Ollerus' power on the other hand, is the complete opposite. how it works cannot be explained. how it attacks cannot be explained. where it comes from cannot be explained. what makes it work cannot be explained. in a way, this is like Dark Matter. Dark Matter creates something that isn't "something unknown that hasn't been discovered", but "something unknown that shouldn't even be able to exist in the first place". This is the same for Ollerus. his power is not "something that people haven't found an explaination for yet", but rather "something that doesn't even have an explanation in the first place".

this is why he is a scary sunnavabitch. since one needs to know how something attacks to be able to defend against it, this is truly horrifying. how do you defend from something that you cannot comprehend, and cannot understand, something that cannot even be explained at all? and in the first place, this is a defensive power, so by using its "unexplainable" property, it has been twisted even further by turning it into an attack.

To use the Science side "Personal Reality" which, while bending physics to suit its users needs, still have a clearly defined set of working mechanism before it can work as well as thorough understanding to utilise its logic, ESPers are naturally logical creatures(despite their abilities defying common logic, it is still their logic nonetheless), it is naturally impossible for a user of "Personal Reality" to find a way to decrypt something that doesn't even have an excryption in the first place to defend against it.

To defend something means you have to know what you're defending against. How are you going to do it if you don't even know what to defend against, and even more so when you're completely logical and scientific? Even the strongest of the Gemstones, whose power cannot be explained even by himself, cannot find a way of defending against this "Unknown".
