Yep, as previously mentioned, Paul's ascension in this version lacked the heroic qualities of the prior two adaptations, thus making the 2024 version that much closer to the book. Paul didn't as much 'fulfill' his destiny as 'stepping' into it. In the books, Paul was not entirely a hero (and the first book was essentially a tale of revenge), but more like a self-made prophet/messiah who forseen and later did his best to curb an artificial catastrophe.
But the fanaticism and ferver as portrayed in the movie? Never have I seen anything in Hollywood sci-fi so convencing.
Stilgar? There were times his attitude towards Paul came off as funny, although I am pretty damn sure it was unintentional.
