Also I remember a time early into the Delta airing where people insisted the show was plot centric not character centric like Frontier was to excuse the lack of character development.

Alto saluted with facing the stage. so basically saluting both. however, looking back to DYRL, Hikaru saluted to the girl he just dumped a few hours ago. So yes, he saluted Ranka. Oh my. .. there are important things to discuss....

I didn't know why the Macross sub forum kept lighting up for me because the Delta discussions were dead, then I realized even now Frontier provides more of a discussion.

@BetoJr: it wouldn't be wrong if their so called plot wasn't so bloody weak...it was the excuse used but I feel like they really didn't spend all that much time focusing on a coherent plot >~>

As for the salute...I'm sorry guys. I'm team Arusheri all the way and believe full well that TV series was actually conclusively AS (rewatch has actually made me feel better abt the wings ending) but to me it makes more sense if the salute was for both of them.
