And I'm talking about the original animated movie, by the way. The Bay ones were... not that great, IMO.

If we're talking superhero movies of 2018, I think that title is more fitting for Venom. Aquaman was an ambitious epic movie from the start (they went crazy with its marketing too), but Venom was only meant to be a small-scale first step of building the Sony spidey-franchise yet it earned 850+ Million USD worldwide which is beyond surprising. I'd argue that Spiderman: Spider-verse is a more epic and ambitious movie than Venom.

Eh, Deadpool was all about the humor. Aquaman sprinkles the humor in when appropiate.

And the movie is epic in most forms recognized by cinema.

Yes, Spider-verse is a much better movie than Venom. There's no argument there unless you don't like animation. But Venom is also fun in its quirky way (it grossed 850+ million for a reason).

Yep, Aquaman deserve that distinction because, outside of MCU, there aren't many superhero movies that involves seven underwater kingdoms throughout the seven seas (+ Kaijuu) in its storytelling

RLM often come off as elitist dickbags, while still being funny. They got a real deaf ear whenever it comes to movies which are FUN to watch because of the characters and spectacle. That's when their own snobbism (especially Mike's and Jay's) comes out in full force.

I fundamentally also disagree with their Rogue One review, while I still watch the opening bid to it from time to time, because it's still funny.
