I didn't see the first one. I could see the "quality" of the second movie well from the first trailer and just went to see it because that friend of mine with whom I always go to the movies insisted that he wanted to see it.

Johnny English and Pink Panther live-action movies pretty much go hand-in-hand destroying quality comedy when it comes to cop/agent parodies. I still like Leslie Nielsen's Naked Gun movies better even though they're also pretty much a hit and miss.

Also, didn't Atkinson star in the British sitcom The Thin Blue Line? I kinda like that one when I was younger.

I don't see the point to Pink Panther, it was a bunch of Americans speaking bad-accented English.

I mean... who authorized that shit?

I'll have nobody say negative things about the original Pink Panther with Peter Sellers. But the new stuff.... eeecchhh.

A comedy I actually found funny, but which the world at large disdained was Mortdecai with Jonny Depp. So nobody can say that my sense of humor is flawless or anything.

But, yeah, my buddy has a track record of liking even terrible movies.

Oh, yes. He totally wanted to see them. But I stopped going with him to those kinds of movies, because I have some minimal standards.

1.) I don't watch horror movies.
2.) German movies are 90% dogshit.
3.) Terrible cringe humor or referential humor is beneath me.

I like the first movie enough to want a sequel, but I wasn't really there for the duels in the ring. I was there for the first 30 minutes.

Eh, so are most Japanese movies. They are often unable to get away from the idol-romance crap. I could pretty much count on one hand the good Japanese movies released in the 21st century thus far. It's a really sad state of affairs.

On the other hand, look at the bright side, German actors tend to get better international recognition than their Japanese counterparts.

Eh, I don't know about "most", but Japan do know how to make creepy horror movies, some good drama, some good animanga LA-adaptations, some historical-period movies and even good tokusatsu & kaijuu movies. Like, if you ask me to mention good Japanese movies, I can give you dozens of titles. Good German movies however, I''ll be struggling to mention even just ten.

Also, the "most movies suck"-phenomenon actually applies everywhere in the world no matter what the country (but the percentage can vary). That's why good & great movies are always the minority.

Yeah, I don't disagree, but I also mentioned I could count the list on one hand for the 21st century thus far.

But while the list may just be slightly longer than their German counterparts, but that does not change the fact that most Japanese movies tend to be infested with discardable idols, often in roles they have no business of playing!

The death of Kurosawa and Mifune done a number on the quality of Japanese movies. *SIGH*

I watched 'The Nun', what a stupid movie, vastly inferior to its prior incarnations. Now waiting on Overlord. Nazi Zombies, should be good...

Erm, you might be a bit disappointed on the number of zombies, if Jeremy Jahns is anything to go by...

^ If you want a good, fun and hilarious Nazi Zombie-movies, I suggest Dead Snow and its sequel if you haven't seen them.
