I'll probably get into the new COD eventually. I think the gun smithing system looks pretty good. Although I'll probably play more for the story. I can't keep up with the speed of multiplayer these days.

Koei Tecmo was on semi-retirement with the Three Kingdoms series until Creative Assembly stole their thunder. Not to be outdone, Koei Tecmo is making a comeback:

Currently playing MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. Good gameplay, but the story is haphazard at best and it's mostly standard missions. The main gameplay problem is, as many other players have pointed out, that enemy mechs spawn almost inside your formation, so any long-range build is almost pointless. I think, aside from the otherwise good combat, the most impressive thing is that they recreated the entire Inner Sphere map. You can really travel to any star there. I'm still in 3018, so I am looking forward to see what happens when the official starting date for the fourth succession war comes around.

Also playing BattleTech again, because I'm in the mood for it and I got all the DLC's now. Spent literally three hours reloading until I got a full female crew with the Kickstarter portraits for my main character.

Also still doing Star Wars: The Old Republic and World of Warcraft occasionally and Total War: Warhammer II is on my "to-do" list once more.

Hrm, somehow I'm not that interested in getting that new Three Kingdoms DLC, while I'm still totally at the "shut up and take my money!" stage with TW: WH II.

I've been heavily playing Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries the last days. The gameplay loop of "look for contracts -> fly into conflict zone -> fight -> get out for repairs, sell salvage, get good mechs on the market" is working quite well, given that the core gameplay is really strong. I've pretty much given up on expecting something from the story. Currently still got a mix of medium to assault mechs, due to the drop weight for the current difficulty being at 270 tons. I'm still in 3023, so I'll happily see what happens when the Fourth Succession War begins in 3028.

Alright, final report on Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries. After playing 70 hours, I'm pretty much done. The main campaign is over and now I only got free play left. Since I already am running around with full several 100 ton assault lances, there's not much point to it, except some "special missions", which reward some more Lostech.

But, as I said, I got 70 hours out of the game, which is pretty decent. The core gameplay is definitely fun, if repetitive.

On to other stuff. I got a hankering for some Stellaris, but there's an expansion coming out in early 2020, so I think it's a bad time at the moment. I'd rather have that expansion included as well and maybe by then they'll have something done about the late game performance issues which have been plagueing that game for about a year now.

Otherwise, I could continue the new campaign run with BattleTech, now that I got all the DLC's there... but I'm kinda "BattleTech'ed out" at after 70 hours of stomping mechs around.

I guess it's back to Total War: Warhammer II, World of Warcraft (new patch soonish) or Star Wars: The Old Republic for me.

Hmmm, I might finally finish off my NG+ run of The Witcher 3, where I am at level 99.

Also, Subnautica: Below Zero is coming out soon as well and I already bought the early access version (not touching it until it is ready, though... I want the complete game).

And of course I went with Stellaris, which is the worst choice at this moment, aside from Subnautive: Below Zero. Well, I might already abandoning it after a few hours, given that I still got that "there's a new expansion coming soon!" thought nagging me from inside. ^^

So, I put in another 30+ hours into Stellaris since last I posted, tried multiple government/traits combinations (although I pretty much always play the same way... tall empire, with a research-focused race) and finished not one of the games... which is pretty much impossible, anyway, since conquering the whole galaxy would take weeks and the game sadly slows down a lot after you reach about 160 years of gameplay. And I mean the game, not "the gameplay". I hope the developers optimize their engine somewhat with the new expansion.

One free day to go before I'll have to go back to work. <sigh> No idea what I am going to do tomorrow, aside from trying to progress on the novel for a few hours. Probably something of the games listed above, although I still got that Borderlands 3 DLC which I want to play through.

Speaking of games, I picked up a little gem called Kingdom Under Fire II last year when it was released, and have been playing ever since. This game was actually announced as early as 2008, cost $50 million, but was in danger of becoming vaporware until it was released in November of 2019. This is a RTS/MMO hybrid game with a large troop roster, with most of your time and resources spent on actually leveling up troops.

The MMO aspect is nothing to write home about, but it's the troop combat on the battlefield that is the highlight. Overall, it's becoming rather addictive, to my surprise. Yes, I have been anticipating for this game's release, but seeing how it almost entered vaporware status, I was not expecting too much. Welp, I was wrong.

Yeah, still not as done with Stellaris as I thought. ^^ I'm trying to at least finish one game to the arbitrary 2500 date where you win by victory score.

This is a pretty good cosplay for Warhammer, except eh... that stuffed sheep...

I mean, wow. That's a lot of dedication to put that together.

Probably going to sacrifice the sheep to Slaneesh.

Anyway, I just now finally finished the Stellaris game and unless the devs drastically improve performance with the next expansion, I'm done for the moment with the game. The last fifty years were painfully slow...

Also, I am upgrading my PC and it seems I'll spend about 1.200 Euro this time. A friend who is in IT is putting together the components list already, so I maybe will get all of this done in the next weeks.

Anyway, Cyberpunk 2077 delayed until September. At least I got time to test my new rig against other games before, then.

But seriously, despite it of course being disappointing, I want the game to be as polished (heh... that was an unintentional wordplay ) as possible before it gets released, so I'm fine with it, although a second delay would suck.
