Beto: as a late response, I know, I kind of said that in my post. I'm in the minority hating Micheal Bay, that doesn't make his movies good though.

A lot of people seem to defend Wind. I don't know why, but I am pretty sure my rewatching sessions will tell me soon.

Yeah but the reason he gets work is because tons flock to see his movies. And they will defend say the Transformers movies to death. I've heard people working as critics complain about their fans. The point is, a large audience doesn't really say much about the substance of the work. That's what I have trouble with. I can totally live with people enjoying pure cheese, but the guys on the main board... woah. I'm also not cool with people trying to justify Kawanyan, because I have seen Akvalion and I have suffered.

I have never seen anyone defending the Transformers movies. Not seriously, anyway. If I did, I would have burst out loud, with laughter. And died, most likely. The first movie was actually, mostly, okay, I guess. It was shite, but it was nicely done, even if the action was horribly shot. All the other movies were ridiculously over the top stupider, dumber and louder than the first.

And I still managed to see all of them, but I didn't really pay, after the second one... I'm vaccinated, I guess.

Of course, money doesn't equal quality. I know that.
Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad are perfect examples of just such a thing. Hopefully (pretty please?), Wonder Woman will fare better? I mean, she was the best thing about BvS, to me, anyway...

I've seen people seriously defend Batsoup and Zack Snyder. Granted, I lurk the darkest places of the internet. This was on the australian small bird forum, but I have a feeling I'd bump into these arguments in certain other places...

I have friends that defend BvS and claim Henry Cavill is the best Superman ever! I don't know how I haven't made them eat all their teeth yet, with a side salad of their own intestines, so... Maybe I'm getting better, as a person?

And none is defending windermere. We just say that NUN must face trial as well as windermere.

@BetoJR - Nice to see we (mostly) agree on Batman v Superman. As a Batman fan, I thought it was bad. As a Superman fan, I thought it was terrible.

Cavil very much looks the role, and his costume in BvS is really good. But his overall characterization is so far from what Superman should be that it's honestly tragic.

Affleck!Batman looks and sounds better at a surface level, but when I really stop to think about his actions in the BvS movie, it's very contrary to Batman at his best.

My view on BvS is that almost every signal major character in it is like a dirt poor man's version of the comic character, or even a caricature of the comic character. The female characters - Lois Lane and Wonder Woman - fared the best, in my opinion.

Maybe, but lets find out.

There may be clues, and lets see what my opinions become when these clues (combined with my uber nerd-knowledge of Macross) reveal themselves.

I remain deeply unimpressed by the DC-movieverse. The general tone reeks of an edgelord having been given ultimately authority. I prefer the general light-heartedness of the Marvel cinematic universe. That general tone makes the serious stuff feel more relevant.

Hot damn the arguments can swing from one extreme to another on the main forum in regards to Wind with no middle ground. That used to be shipping! Holy crap, I r scared.

I find the attempts to do a moral equivalence between the Windbags (a top-down absolutist monarchy of racial supremacists) and NUNS (a decentralized multicultural alliance of mutual benefits) almost funny, if they weren't so spurious and terribly bad. They basically have to put fingers in their ears and shout "lalalala, can't hear you!" to avoid dealing with the obvious dissimilarities between the two organizations.

You know that Vatikanstadt is an absolute Monarchic state as well, aren't you? Now is it also bad? :P

Well, yes. As a Christian, I think the Vatican ruined it for everyone else. It was a movement never meant to have a central Earthly authority, and in fact was free from one until the Romans decided they should control the gig because they were losing an empire (while adding BS ideas like priesthood, which had deep Roman roots).

This combined with humanity's natural want for lust & power, and the rest is history. But again I digress.

Fun place to visit, though.
