Yeah, I was quite occupied with stuff, too and didn't see the post-count until I took another look at the board a few hours later. It happens.

I also think a lot of the songs are pretty meh. Though not underwhelming, like the BGM.

Yeah music wise I dont think ill keep around a lot of Walkure stuff as favourites.

Currently i've trimmed their stuff down to 11 songs (though tbf 2 of those are Heinz songs and 1 is Mikumos Song of Stars) And I still might trim off Absolute 5 and their version of Ai Oboete Imasuka

Comparatively I've reloaded Frontier songs into my playlist because i genuinely miss them. Current song count on that is 21 (though again tfb they have more material annnnndd 4 of those are different Aimos and 2 different Diamond Crevesses as well as the 2 really good song mashups from series and movies) And that 21 is me being a bit picky.

I believe I have said all I ever wanted to say. And until the anime studio offer us more details of why they did what they did and where the story is going to go in the future, I am done. I actually consider Delta discussions draining, because doing so makes me depressed about the Macross franchise.

Frankly, I am not a true pacifist. I believe in a nation's right to self defence. But I do think declaring war is a serious matter, and not something one does casually. The more I argue with others in the Macross forum, the more I see that I am a minority.

Worse, it is clear now that many people have no idea why WW2 happened. That they were taught that Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan are "just evil people", and that it is the only reason why ww2 happened.

And that is why suddenly these same people are arguing that Windermere "was justified to declared war" because of some minor trade embargoes and political difficulties. A view they can only hold if they were 100% ignorant about the trade barriers that Japan went under and the political pain Germany went through after WW1. It just makes me sad that Delta created the most realistic portrayal of WW2 Axis in anime, and yet so many are unable to see the similarities.

I dunno about minority. I went to MWF to see how they felt about the show and the majority in the polls for the last 2 episodes voted Meh or Negative. The opinions are pretty much the same, with some additional good points added and noting how Valk action/material for new toys was seriously lacking. The main difference there is that people aren't arguing, just stating opinions, whatever that may be. Also nobody is telling the negative/meh not to bash the writing.

One thing someone said there showcased how I feel about the show. The only reason the first half felt strong (more like had potential) to me (and the poster on that board) was because we were looking forward to a payoff in the second half. Something that never happened. Nothing went anywhere, nobody accept Mirage and Mikumo to a lesser degree have learned or grew as a person, nothing was resolved. (There was no LT, Hayafre was set in stone and like Vallen said, we didn't see them dealing with Fre dying.)

I do like the approach people have there, so again, this is how I feel. If you liked the show, good for you.

From what I can gather, most of the japanese fandom don't really seem to, either, so I guess maybe there's some kind of "lost in translation" thing going on, here. Or too much expectations, I don't know. Maybe that's some of the problem.

What I mean to say is: I'm an old school (a very old school, actually) fan of the franchise, and I wasn't particularly offended by anything in this show.
Heck, I actually enjoyed it a great deal. Way more than 7, Zero or II, personally.

Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, obviously.
These are just my own.

I am slated to finish this series by the end of this week. However, I am beginning to feel a bit iffy following jailbait's coronation...
