Random question, guys, remember my old Nanoha bit Mother Issues? I could have sworn I wrote a follow up to it, but I can't seem to find it. ^^;;;

I tried running a search for posts by you with "Misato" in them, but only came up with three follow-up discussion entries to "Mother Issues" appearing after it.

Huh, weird. =O I could have sworn I wrote more after that, but I might be misremembering...

Just started my break officially today, but I don't think I'm very good at this 'holiday' thing. Have to go back into the office a few times next week to handle some unfinished business :S I think I've grown senselessly attached.

Especially, she should turn her hand to a GrimGrimoire story! (Though she should finish up posting "The Things We Tame" first, of course!)

Ouch! I hate when that happens--I once had to come in and do a closing during my vacation week because it absolutely had to happen then. Not only was it annoying on general principles, the secretaries all gave me grief about it. And I'm guessing that since you didn't log in here for around five days straight, you were also getting ground into meat paste this past pre-vacation week trying to get as much cleaned up as possible before the vacation started!

Oouuchhhh. I dread closings - something is bound to go wrong, some document is bound to have been 'updated' since last circulation (resulting in those scenes where you stare at the original signed documents from both sides and say "This doesn't seem to match" or "what in the nine hells is THIS??" - only amusing in hindsight), and someone is always late.

Heheh aside from trying to tidy up my stray matters, I got roped into doing some pro bono work last week. Spent the whole day with kids - hardest working day EVER. What do you say to a kid who would rather spend his time reading books titled 'Finding Joy in Life'? (he was around 9 years old, btw).

I'm having more fun sleeping in than I ever imagined!!

Also picked up my pencil and squishy-blu-tack-like eraser (what the heck do you call them anyway?) again, so hopefully in a few weeks I'll be back on the GrimGrimoire track. Have a huge backlog of ideas to flush out though XD

Ack, yes, and the brokers are always coming up with new things to change the figures at the last minute (this oil proration, that home inspection fee, and what about the water test... ) and if it's not them it's the lender waiting until the very, very last minute to deliver the loan funds (if we're lucky and they don't wait until it's the next day...) or taking two hours, a wad of e-mails, and a phone call to the closer's supervisor to approve the packet of documents they insist be faxed back to them for review before they authorize disbursement... One local lender, meanwhile, requests post-closing corrections so often that I'm not sure why they even bother to have a pre-closing document review process...

Meanwhile, this post was basically the last thing I read on the 'Net last night and capped off a good day* with a huge surge of the happys. I always look forward to seeing whatever you do in whatever fandom, but to have it be in the woefully underrepresented GrimGrimoire is always especially wonderful.

*It was Labor Day here in the U.S., so I got a day off to sleep in, too!

Back to school grind for me, boo. I'll have fun courses this year, but still, now I must wake up at set times!

Hayate x Vivio Files update!

Argh, Incipient is creeping along so slowly...and I got distracted by an unfinished GrimGrimoire ficlet too .

But you had your revenge on me 2-to-1, by using the fanon names for Klarwind (Klarer Wind) and Laevatein (Levantine), and you upped the ante by misspelling "Levantine," too, so I have to give the crushing victory to you in this matter! I herely stalk off-stage, cackling "Curses, foiled again!" and muttering something about taking summary vengeance at the earliest possible opportunity.*

Well, if the unfinished ficlet that distracted you was your fluff challenge, then I revel in your distraction, because it was a really good ficlet, to which I must post a proper review later today. But what's Incipient?

*That last bit was actually an Edgar Allan Poe quote, from "Thou Art The Man"

LOL, really? That was unintentional! XD;;; I didn't actually know I was misspelling, I've been out of fandom for some time . I'm either/or on Klarer Wind vs. Klarwind, and I actually like Laevatein (LAEVATEINN is the historical sword! ) over Levantine because of the historical connotations (remember, that's why I liked Asura over Arthra!). I'll go make edits.

Glad you liked it . I've been working on that one for ages (ever since the challenge was issued!), so I'm glad to finally get it done.

Incipient is the next Hayate x Vivio story, dealing with the events right after Prerogative of the Brave. As the title indicates, it's all about the two of them really making decisions about their relationship and making it, well, "real" ^^. But grahhhhh, it's not working with me right now @_@ *wrestling furiously with manuscript*

Incidentally, I spent from 3 AM to about 7 AM reading all your Hayate x Vivio Files as well as Shigan's The Things We Tame. I have to admit, the pairing was always weird to me due to the various reasons Hayate presents for not being able to get together with Vivio in PoTB, but I did enjoy your stories. I might be able to give you a review, even, once I catch up with a huge amount of backlog that I owe Dear Dezo!

*Nod* I understand where people would be weirded out by the idea of the pairing; I was weirded out too before! I wrote the stories as seriously (kind of ironic, given the over-the-top humour of the writing) as I could because I wanted to convince myself that this could ever be a valid, non-creepy pairing. But I think that once I really caught the direction/theme/mood that I wanted to go with it (seen in "You Never Lose By Loving," with how Vivio's feelings weren't taken seriously because she's "just a teenager") it became much more real and tragic to me. As much as I grumble about how immature and stupid teenagers can be sometimes, I do really believe that their feelings shouldn't be brushed off as "melodrama" or "what do you know about real love?" ^^. So I'm really enjoying tackling Vivio's perspective on the whole relationship .

It's an interesting idea, to be sure, but yes, a bit weird. (I was going to say! It doesn't seem like the story takes itself too seriously, especially when it comes to Vivio trying to ask Hayate out on a date and her various Fission Maileds. ) Well, it is tragic, and it ought to make for some interesting drama, as the age gap complicates their relationship due to factors that are completely alien to their feelings themselves. *chuckles* Yes, well, I don't think that people nowadays are particularly sensitive in that regard, as Vivio well knows!

Again, good job on writing the story. I'm looking forward to next installments, though I have the sneaking suspicion that it'll take me awhile to tackle them when they do come out... *eyes wistfully the large amount of homework on desk*
