I can't believe it after having been disillusioned by constant bad novels from Troy Denning and the general storyline as soon as the Yuuzhan Vong hit (except the original Star Wars: Legacy comic, which still stands as the best Star Wars product published in the last twenty years), to wishing the original continuity came back.

Unless the stories dramatically improve and they never mention shit like the hyperspace ram attack again and pretend it never happened, I think I'll just have to declare for myself that the NuContinuity is the true "Legends" of Star Wars. But, hey, some more mismanagement by Kathleen Kennedy and who knows what will happen.

BTW, Ackbar also died in the original continuity eventually, but it was after leading the New Republic fleet to victory against the Yuuzhan Vong. He basically died of exhaustion as he was super old at that point and had to lead the fleet from a water tank on the bridge of the flagship, because due to his advanced age he was dehydrating rapidly all the time when out of the water.

Oh, c'mon... Ackbar's voice actor died just as TLJ started filming. They retired the character because of that, too.

Also, he gets a little more than 2:30 minutes of screen time in Return of The Jedi. That's a great character, in your book? I mean, I know some people get hung up on Boba Fett, but c'mon...

Well i just got my tickets for Pacific Rim, will be seeing it Friday. I checked the RT score this morning and it was at %50. I have watched worse. But my favorite review stated: Its better than the Transformer Movie.

Seriously, I had watched all the TF movies with Dark of the Moon being my favorite. The one before was an action movie that bored me and actually gave me a headache. And I did not even bother with the last. My friend who is a hardcore Transformer/Japanese robot fan even said don't bother.

Pacific Rim: Uprising seems like a fun popcorn movie, does it not? What more does it need to be?

Yeah, I like the first and I think it never aspired to be more, with its zany shenanigan scientists and all that.

To be honest, the scene where a very young Mako runs from that Kaiju really was about the only scene where the terror such an event would inspire shone through for me from about any giant monster movie I've seen. Superb job by that young actress, IMO.

Kinda bummed that Cable seems to be the bad guy in the movie, but I'm pretty sure that won't stay that way for the entire runtime of it.

I am irritated by that too. But if they are going to put her in there, and not paint her blue, at least take care of the fleabag situation.

The good thing about a girl's hair is they can always change how it looks in future movies (which still makes sense in-universe) if the showrunners decide to listen to the fans. Remember how Storm's hairdo was never the same throughout the X-Men movies?
