Oh, they, Avengers: Endgame screens two days before its US release in Germany. BUT, since I got a new job which has normal office hours, my usual cinema visiting time of the 11 pm won't work anymore (otherwise I'll show up on Fridays with five hours of sleep and I got an RPG round at Friday evening as well), so it's probable that we'll have to reschedule to see the movie either on the weekend when the US has seen it as well or even the next Wednesday at 8 pm, which is much later.

I've always thought Atlantians were underwater elves...

Willem Dafoe makes a good case for it.

Okay, that was a bit odd. But, it's Tarantino, so I guess we'll see if that movie has a serious murder quota. ^^

Whose erm... ‘exploits’ actually had authorities investigate several prominent members of Hollywood, including Bruce Lee.

Oh, one of them was supposed to be Manson? Okay, that puts another spin on the movie.

Bruce Lee was investigated for the Manson murders because at the time, several prominent individuals in Hollywood, such as the now disgraced Roman Polanski, apparently believed that, if anyone is going to kill anyone with his/her bare hands, it's gotta be Lee.

Oh, wow. Well, stupider things have happened.

Well, to be fair, Lee was at the time, the only goto person for any martial arts training in Hollywood. His students included Sharon Tate, then wife of Roman Polanski, who was murdered by Manson.

Edit: Also doesn't help that Lee had a pretty bad temper, or at the very least act the part. Burt Ward (Robin) himself admitted that he was pretty terrified when they had to film a fight scene placing them against each other. Lee's reputation obviously precedes him...

Well, I guess Hollywood was another kind of place back then, if people were afraid another actor might just kill them for the kicks.

Well, like Tak put it, Lee wasn’t “just an actor”, even before his megastardom. Lots of movie people hung out and trained with him - and, yeah, his fame was a bit on the wild side, as behooved his martial arts persona.

I'm apparently not as much into Hollywood culture of the sixties and seventies as you guys are.

I still recall the conversation Chuck Norris had with Bruce Lee prior to filming Way of the Dragon.

According to Chuck:

"So Bruce called me on the phone and said he wanted me to be in a film."

B: You are going to be my opponent in the movie.

C: So who wins?

B: I am, because I am the hero!

C: You are going to beat up the world champion?

B: No, I am going to kill the world champion!
