true true, she's mature, far from what her looks might suggest to those who see her in first glance.........now i just wanna say im miffed at ppl comparing sheryl to rukia, THE GREAT RUKIA OF BLEACH the same as SHERYL!!!!! seriously... who thought of that need to rewind and see bleach from the very beginning cause there is nothing inside of sheryl that even is the same as rukia!!!!! well except both are girls........but other than that NO!!! sorry but im such a big rukia fan xp and its like an insult to rukia to even consider to be on the same level as sheryl!!!!!!!! ps- i doubt rukia would have still be together with ichigo if all he cares about is her sickness, she'd probably nip it in the bud and tell him to scram!!!!

ya know........i read somewhere that a sheryl fan wrote that hikaru also join the macross to protect minmay, trying to tell that alto's desire to protect raka will endup just like hikaruminmay conclusion.........and i also saw sheryl slapping ranka bcause of mikhails death i think. can i ask whether ranka really deserved to be slap??? and they also said that Kawamori Shoji actually was dissapoined in ranka's character developement and that he enjoyed the alto and sheryl scenes.........

I will try to answer your 3 questions

1) Macross is Macross and Frontier and Frontier..sure we can find similarity between both shows but we can never guess how the series will go based on the older series...it's like we can never really predict any future events based on history (of course we can say "oh see I told you so" after the event has happened)

2) Does Ranka deserve the slap? I don't know...well that was an emergency situation and Sheryl was trying hard to press any button she could press..XD..so I don't think the slap is such a big deal and I can't blame anyone for the "slap incident"

3) Well nowadays, I don't know whether those interviews are true or not...As I always suggest in Macross thread (before someone discovers that some of the interviews never exist!!) Audiences don't really have to care about those interviews...just like..do you think judges from Oscar will give additional points to the movie when the director publishs his interview in order to make his movie more understandable to those judges?? Audiences see the series, have their own judgments, and that's it...those interviews are good additional materials, but we do not need them to understand the story better

I don't know who told you that Sheryl slapped Ranka because of Mikhail's death but that person is completely wrong. I'm pretty sure that slap occurred before Mikhail's death. The slap was just to snap Ranka out of her current state at the time because Ranka had become unstable.

You remember that Ranka was running up the stairs because she finally realized herself that she was in love with Alto. At that moment, Ranka had built up a lot of emotions because she was going to confess to Alto but when she reached the top and saw Alto holding Sheryl, Ranka misunderstood the situation for something else (which was very bad timing considering what was about to transpire.) Ranka then felt all of those emotions built up just crash within her so when Alto wanted Ranka to use her singing to tame the Vajra, Ranka couldn't because she was emotionally unstable, she also began to feel used by everyone (even Alto.) Either way, the slap was made to snap Ranka out of that unstable state.

The slap was in the episode Diamond Crevasse and Ranka was unstable( or surprised and sad) because she saw Sheryl on Alto's arms( a confussion..Sheryl almost fainted)....the slap was to get Ranka out of her shock and that she could sing.

Well, i know some of you read the essays already from the other forum but i still wanted to posts these coz it's really interesting. Btw, this is made by BLEACHOD. For those who don't know about her she was a member here but for some reasons she was kicked out it happened to few devoted ranka fans who sincerely expressing their thoughts but misjudged by others and other member i knew was also banned but lucky for him to retrieve his membership back. I just really thought they were so cruel to do that to them.

anyway, the slapped scenes i think Sheryl did the right thing to slap ranka but in episode 25 i don't know why they have to let ranka slapped Sheryl when it wasn't necessary that only made ranka hated more by sheryl fans.

I enjoyed that Ranka slapping Sheryl scene XD it's something like this:

You are driving your beloved F1 throughout the race..100 meters left and you will win the race..but then you discover your car is slowing down...I bet you will hit every button on your beloved car or you will even hit the steering wheel etc..you will do anything to finish the remaining 100 meters...

it's more or less the same thing (We are so close to the promised land, why give up now?)

So, I heard that the sequel for Macross Frontier is separated into two different movies. One for Sheryl, and one for Ranka.

Can't wait.

one for Sheryl and one for Ranka??...I heard one is for a recap and one is for a new material, and then I heard, one is for ep 1-7 only and one is for the further episode...I don't know what it is anymore

lol, I really hope I will get a Ranka ending...that's all I care (and awesome fighting scene...I admit I am a greedy person)

Well to be honest, there are a lot of rumors going around that have yet to be confirmed so it's better to wait before getting our hopes up. Although it does seem that the first movie is going to have quite a bit of focus towards Sheryl considering she's on the cover, and the movie preview features one of her new songs "Pink Monsoon."

As far as the second movie goes, we have no idea what it really is going to be about although ANN did say that the second movie will consist of new material but even that is questionable considering the new rumors that have come up, claiming that the first movie will consist of material from episodes 1-7. We don't know anything for sure right now so we'll see what comes up in the coming month.

This probably has to do with the "False Songstress (Diva)" title of movie...
Can Sheryl be the False Diva ?? Hmmm...

Also Alto Saotome who is the main male protagonist is not in the cover either.
There is certainly a reason of why the company choose Sheryl to be in the cover and not anyone else

The only official spoiler we have is the last image of the first movie with Sherly and Ranka both wearing wedding dresses (according to Otaku2 Review). It will probably have a Happy ending for both girls

ya know after reading bout alll info and seeing all the materials from the first and hearing from the second movie, i just can't help but angrily tell kawamori to just cut ranka of entirely. she doesn't deserve the treatment they give her AT all and by making her actually being the 2nd character in her OWN show, thats just seriously ripped off!! Sheryl was planned to die in like what, the 5th eps?? i understand fanservice play roles in making big bucks but where the HELL is the integrity of these ppl who at first created ranka to be the lead female. instead of making sheryl such a sexy icon just so more fans will by macross F, they should do something bout ranka...but they didn't! bcause of ranka i TRIED watching macross, key-word tried but i entirely stop and for each eps i just read the synopsis. same goes for the first and soon this stupid 2nd movie that will probably induce more sexy sheryl for big bucks..huh i dunno, its not the first time a company just put ppl together for fan service, SUNRISE is already popular for that. i really don't get where kawamori goes for putting sheryl in EVERY ranka important scenes in the movie. If he's trolling us, i doubt he is, then his good. and for ppl who says kawamori's just trolling, why in the world would he do that if ya'll say his gonna do ranka and alto in the end. no offence but with the synopsis of the first movie, by just reading, i could practically feel arusherri, and lots of ranka fans are practically down. if kawamori did this to take us of track, WOW his doing a pretty damn good job. but he shouldn't let it be soo arusherri. he's the director for cryin out loud (he is right??), he should have balance it!!! im sorry for being so emo right know but i really feel like i need to get this of my chest

well, back in the series, I like Ranka not because I know in advance that she is the main heroine, but it is because that I like Ranka during the series...to me, Ranka and Sheryl are co-lead in the series...just like DYRL, Misa and Minmei both were the main heroine...

Now I don't know how Ranka got treated in the first movie...but I won't believe too much about what other posters described in the forum...at least not this forum...(this is Sheryl's land in animesuki XD) I will hold judgment until I see the first movie...besides, the first movie, based on it's name, is focused on Sheryl, so even if the first movie is really focused on Sheryl, I won't worry too much
