Wow, I've had more rain this winter than snow, and usually no rain until mid-late February. Weird mild winter this season.

Same here - well, HK isn't by any northern standard, but still... hardly even had to use my coats this 'winter'.

Having said that, finally succumbed to the flu that's making the rounds. Well timed as always, just when I begin to get breathing space after some rough closings. Only took 10 months of roughhousing on the body!

Yeah I heard about Bowie today at work.

All throughout yesterday we had above 0 temps and rain, and somehow overnight we got -15 highs and an inch of snow. What the hell?

Man, I also succumbed to the sickness today . So inconvenient!

@yui: LOL, yes! I have to work this afternoon, sadly, but at least it's "sit in the back room and supervise on the cameras" so it's not so bad . I hope you get a nice lie in this weekend!

@Laith: I wasn't as huge a fan of David Bowie, only really knowing him from Labyrinth, but it's a shame . And Alan Rickman died too, he will first and foremost be Professor Snape in my eyes....

@everyone: Anyone have any interesting new year's resolutions? New hobbies? New interests? New somethings?

Does planning to go swimming this summer for the first time in years count? Last summer I was working double digit shifts six days a week and not wanting to do anything but rest in bed on my days off, and the previous 2 summers looking for work, or doing split shifts at my current job. I need to find myself a nice cushy job with air conditioning/heating, or win the lottery (would probably help if I ever bought a ticket...) cause I swear my hair has started thinning and slowly begun to recede since last summer's stress.

Resolutions? I never take them seriously but this year maybe I do need to: 2016 - to not get killed by my job and to make work suck less.

It ACTUALLY snowed in HK this morning. I thought the weather forecasts were insane when the rumours started, but my parents saw the stuff literally float down then promptly turn to water

Went bowling for the first time over a year for staff party, did pretty good, though I came second in all 3 games.

...That moment when you suddenly realize that your favorite Arthurian tale ("Sir Gareth, or the Knight of the Kitchen,"):

(a) features branching romantic paths a la visual novels (due to the multiple variations of the story written by different authors); and
(b) the heroine that I prefer is, in fact, a perfectly classic tsundere who spends the entire time berating and insulting the hero* before softening and becoming a romantic marshmallow.

*('Cause she'd gone to King Arthur for a knight to rescue her sister, and Gareth claimed the quest, though he had been living as a kitchen drudge at the court for the past year. Of course, he was actually the youngest of the Orkney brothers (Gawain, Gaheris, Agravane, and Mordred being the others) and more than up to the task, but she didn't know that...heck, Arthur didn't know it at the time, and just let him take the job because of a previous promise.)

...As for New Year's resolutions, I've been trying to get to bed earlier, because by the end of 2015 I was desperately in need of sleep. I've been failing miserably to meet my goal, although at least I'm not going to bed on work nights at times that have "3" and "4" in the hour display, so maybe progress?

OK, I currently have 3 days off in a row coming up as of when I left last night. The last couple of times this happened, my manager tried to give me a short shift on the third day off, and I wound up getting called in on one of my other days off, resulting in only one day off. I am thinking of taking bets on how many days off I'll actually have off.

@Laith: That's looks interesting, I'll have to check it out. Starlight Vega (visual novel) also came out with an updated demo recently too which I've yet to load. Can't wait to buy it on Steam .
