    >>Ah, I see. But I thought that since you have something to do with Japan the situation for you is like when you're a Canadian and you have french in addition to english (or english in addition to french).
Well that would be the case for seemingly most halfs, but not me. I've grown up absorbing parts from both, but never fully immersing in either.

I sent you a PM about the rest.

Okay, I was able to work on it for a bit last night. I wasn't working on it very long so it's not very much. I was going to send this last night but my internet stopped working for some reason. But man, 71 pages. Haha, I guess I'll have to take back what I said about finishing it this week. I'll PM you what I did so you can check it out.

My video player allows me to slow down the video and still hear what they're saying which helps with picking up each word. It sounds really funny in slo-mo though. But also really scary at times.

Hey Nikorai, I'm sorry I couldn't work on this yesterday. I kind of got tied up with the World Baseball Classic. (Japan won if you haven't heard already) I'm going to work on some homework for a bit then I'll start working on this. I'll start from the 4th video since it's the one you said needs the most work.

Haha, man yeah. It's getting kind of hard to keep up with everything some times. Well, Japanese isn't my native language. I actually only became fluent about 2 years ago. I'm not surprised people ask me if I speak Japanese cause they wouldn't really know until I told them. Haha, you just have the upper hand on others by having already known.

    よっ、ニコライ。久しぶり。

    >>ってお前、何言ってのか。
    すまん。なんか、「せんぱ~い、ごめんなさ~い」といいたい気分だ。あなたは先輩じゃないけど 。

It's that I always come with requests to you and I don't really want to be a bother. Perhaps this way I'm only sounding more annoying. Sorry.

Haha, sorry about that. That was supposed to be a joke. That line was supposed to be me saying that to my previous line. Like a "tsukomi". And don't worry, you aren't bothering me so you don't have to be so formal.

Hmm...although I think you may have to pay them something, if you aren't satisfied with their work then you shouldn't have to pay full price. Have they demanded anything from you yet?

Seems like things are coming along nicely. I'm on my spring break right now. Although I have a lot of school related stuff I want to get done during this week, I'll have time to work on this. I'll try and see if I can start on it tomorrow.

    よっ、ニコライ。あのさ、いつもお礼をしなくてもいいぜ。俺らはもうそういう関係だからね。:heehee :
    ってお前、何言ってのか。

    >>But perhaps you don't need to use Google as much as I do. I've checked the japanese thread, and I noticed you've got 広辞苑 which is plain awesome. Personally I don't have any at the moment so I miss a lot of things.
Well the problem is that if it's not a vocab question then I usually can't find it in my dictionaries. So since I can't find it online very well, I kind of get stuck. I have a computer dictionary application if you want it. I just don't know how to get it to you though.

Okay, so hopefully they get you a correct script sometime soon. How much are they going to charge by the way? It's good that you're still chugging along and making progress.

    >>Yesterday I was sitting 8 hours straight but only managed to make out 5 minutes of this video.
    マジか

    >>From my part I also have something to say. I finally found a person who agreed to take a look at the script for video #1 (the anime itself). He checked the first 7 minutes, marked it all red and said that I "screwed up" with the script. Well, I can't say that it was plain wrong but his suggestions did indeed help improve my translation.
If we can check this all, I think the subs will be awesome.

    よっ

I've tried searching on google and yahoo for Japanese questions I have but it never really works out for me. Sometimes I can read the sentence it pops up in and by that figure out what I'm looking for, but it's not often I can successfully use the internet for my questions.

Hmm...so if they fix it up then they'll charge you, type deal?

Okay, so that's the whole thing. My spring break is coming up so we should be able to finish the whole project during then. If you want to continue on translating and just leave the editing to me that's fine, or I can help with the translating then too. We could also probably go back and look at the other 3 videos if you like.

    よっ、ニコライ。元気にしとるのかい?

Hmm...so much to respond to. So did you have to pay to get that script? I looked over it briefly and even if it has some mistakes it should be pretty helpful. Is it the whole thing?

So you're having surgery on the 6th of Apr. Hopefully that goes nice and smoothly. And man, you seem to be having a lot of computer problems lately.

    >>Typing really saves time.
Yeah but it'll kill your writing ability in no time.

    >>Indeed, it’s the teachers who move around, not the students. Of course, you have occasional transfer students but the group stays more or less the same for 10 years.
    Interesting.

    >>The economic department is almost girls only and everyone was very nice and kind. Pretty much like ラブひな.
Haha, so you were getting beat up all the time? Kentarou (?) had it rough some times. Would've been interesting though nonetheless.

    >>Because here it’s more an exception than a rule when you change your class.
Again, though, I'm not speaking from experience but rather from what I've gathered from entertainment mediums that dealt with school. So although it's more than likely right, there's a small chance it might be wrong. And also different schools may have different systems. But I wouldn't say it's the "rule" that people get switched. It could probably still be considered an exception, but it's not really surprising to see it happen. So maybe kind of in-between.

And on the subject of school systems, the American school system is relatively boring compared to some other places around the world.

Hey nikorai, sorry but I won't be able to work on the translations tonight. But don't worry, I'll get to it eventually (that's kind of how I work, sorry). So how's it going on your side though?

Stroke order huh. It's kind of up to you whether or not you want to learn proper stroke order. You could say that it helps make the kanji look nicer. But as long as you get all the strokes in there, all's good. If you were in Japan though, there may be times where you would be slightly looked down upon for not knowing correct stroke order, but not if you were a foreigner. Now a days though, a lot of Japanese people probably don't know proper stroke order. Technology has made it harder to remember writing kanji.

I'm kind of a perfectionist though, so I try and master the correct stroke order as well. Some are easy and follow a general pattern (left to right, top to bottom), but then there are some where you really just have to memorize how the order goes.

Haha, interesting question. I've actually never been to Japanese school (under college), although I had the opportunity to but didn’t take it, so I can't speak from experience. But yeah, they do reshuffle classes every year. As far as I know though, they try and keep the class the same for the most part. They'll try and separate kids that don't get along, and switch students around to try and keep a balance between classes (so there's no smart class and dumb class). So the Russian system is closer to Japan's school system than the American one? Do the teachers move around instead of the students in Russia too?

    Again, you’re welcome

    日本に行けない理由がもう一つある。おはしが使えないんだ。
I have chopsticks at home but the result is close to the situation described in this article –

    ハハハ、何じゃそれ。練習しろよ。練習。

    でも別に使えなくても、フォークはあるから。習った方はいいけど。
