Sorry. I didn't mean to bother you. I actually thought Taniguchi and Okouchi were also behind this work similar to Tomino when doing all Universal Centuries works of Gundam. Still, I'm conflicted by the Resurrection movie for reviving Lelouch regardless of timelines. I mean watch the tv series as a a teeenager and then rewatched it as the movies to avoid wasting too much time. It's like regardless of "alternative universe", Lelouch reviving ruins the ending of movie trilogy too. Then again, there was once a weird Nunually manga where the parallel realities are adressed in the finale. Cheers.

Really happy you enjoyed it this much. I'm also very much hoping they'll make another season, I read a bit of the manga and quality remains extremely high. Only reason I didn't keep reading is that it's monthly, and monthly manga are a bit of a pain to follow. Always feels like not enough happens.

Yayoi is one of the greatest ghost hunters of all time. She has never of steel and a lot of pluck.

The idea that a ghost can brutally kill you and still torture you even after your death is one of those things I find deeply horrifying. There's no escape for the victims, save for a ghost hunter like Yayoi to save them.

Which romcoms from this season? Roshidere and Makeine are pretty solid, the one with the twins is... not very good, and I don't think the stepsister one even qualifies as a -com. I gave Bye Bye Earth a chance even though I'm vehemently anti-furry and its pretty okay. There's not a lot worth mentioning otherwise this season but I'm really enjoying the craziness of Nokotan and Isekai Shikkaku. The new Monogatari series is great so far as well but IIRC you're not a fan. Oh and Dungeon People is fairly interesting as well.

I really liked Dark Gathering myself and I ended up grabbing all of the available manga volumes. Mysterious Disappearances might be worth looking into as well. I gave Spice and Wolf another chance with the reboot but I still kind of hate Lawrence. There's no way I'm making it through a full adaptation.

I would say it's not comparable. It's more psychological horror than gore. The stuff some of these ghosts do is just horrifying.

Happy you're enjoying Dark Gathering. Honestly, I'd be hard pressed to name a better horror anime. I don't know how far into it you are but there are some really messed up moments.

The government has made a big deal out of it but I'm not sure that many people care about them.

Standouts this season... I'd say either Roshidere or MakeIne. They're fairly typical romcom but they have great production values and solid heroines.
