About 12-13 years ago, which was about three years after my parents moved away from that U.S. state I grew up in, I went back and visited my younger brother and some acquaintances in the summer time and took the opportunity to visit all the homes we had lived in when I was still living with them. It was unexpectedly ... powerful, but on a very ... slow moving and deep level, a level one could just barely "hear" if one stopped and listened and was almost out of reach to "touch".
So yes. I can kinda related Udon no Kimi on that level as well - the visiting of the home like that after moving away can stir up a lot of unexpected things, things not necessarily "good" or "bad", but often things one had forgotten about.
Glad to see someone else was also hit my the authenticity of this aspect of that wonderful series, though. ^^
