Yeah, keepin' busy. Was out eating some Indian food today, that was a treat. (An expensive treat, but hey, once in a while it's worth it.)

You sure put the fear of God into me with that picture of Justin Bieber. I didn't know you had it in you to inflict such cruelty on people.

I took a quick look at creating posts at a wordpress blog. Basics seemed pretty simple, even adding pictures and stuff didn't seem that complicated. Of course it'll look pretty, well, basic, but I think I can at least create a post... I think. >-<

You know what they say; cuteness sells. I'm sure people will stay glued to your blog for hours trying to recognize all the characters. Got this really neat background right now that's like that too. It's a parasol concealing all of the characters from the waist up, so you can only see their legs and waist... makes for a fun game trying to see how many you can recognize just from that.

Ah, alright. Not only do I not know how to run a blog, I also do not really read any blogs at all, so I'm clueless all around. I did create a wordpress account, though. I skimmed through it briefly, looks complicated to create a blog with all them purdy pictures, but maybe it isn't. If I don't figure it out on my own (and chances are I won't), maybe you can take me through it the next time we speak. Wrote up a draft for my half-finished post.

For now, I've got to get some sleep, talk to you soon. Damn winter draining all my energy.

Sorry about not answering until now, I had a mess of a day yesterday.

I hope that blogging business isn't too complicated, because I'm pretty much useless when it comes to most things technology-related. I'm not even kidding; you'd think I was 80 when the computer came out.

Yeah, you're right. That's the correct attitude; it's never to late to learn something.

I would say that it's generally true that you won't know who's dangerous just by looking at them here either, but if you see someone who looks like he lives on the streets, chances are he's an addict. There are a lot of good programs in place to help these people though, so it's not like every bum is violent crime waiting to happen.

English (and Norwegian) classes here are mostly the same. I enjoyed English immensely, but Norwegian, not so much. It's too tightly focused on only a few aspects of literary history. I remember when we used to write stories, I think we stopped doing that in junior high. I always misunderstood the intent; I thought it was about writing an interesting story, but it's actually just about following the structure of the type of text you're writing, in addition to grammar and spelling of course. Which is understandable, you're writing an exam, not a book, after all.

A lot of people, myself included, don't realize it while they're growing up. With the whole coming of age thing, hormones going into overdrive and just generally "finding yourself" and trying desperately to fit in, adolescence is often not an easy time to see the big picture. Most people are either intoxicated by youth, or having trouble just staying afloat. A Goofy Movie is a nice Disney movie. It's pretty corny, but it has some genuinely nice moments and a bit of humor, plus some cool songs. I think I watched it a few dozen times growing up, so I still remember most of it.

I hear ya. One is a nice, happy medium. Some company, but won't turn your home into a zoo. :P

I had actually downloaded Skype, but forgotten all about it until you mentioned it just now. I made an account now, it's IaDagon. (That's what I typed under "Skype name", that is the account, right?)

As for the post, I thought that with Shakugan no Shana III this season, and Zero no Tsukaima IV the next, I'd write a comparison between the two series, and give a short little mini-review/retrospective of them, and what we could reasonably expect form these seasons. There are a lot of similarities, the two protagonists both have the same pair of voice actors, they're both by JC Staff and they both have a fantasy setting. In addition, they're bonded nostalgically to me.

There is no off button. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. The younger you are, the easier it is, I think, even if it's not from birth. Younger people just have a natural way with learning things... which makes me sort of worried I wasted too much of my time. :P

There aren't *that* many homeless people or anything, but there are a lot of parks around where I live, plus it's near a river, so it's an area they tend to congregate in. As a general rule, most people who are addicted to heavy drugs (mostly heroin here) could be considered dangerous. Even those who are nice overall won't be pleasant to deal with when they've missed a fix. Most of them sustain their habit begging and committing petty crimes, but they're generally not out to hurt anyone. They're desperate people, so accidents do happen. Because of the high level of welfare and social security in Norway (it's a highly socialized country) it's rare for someone to be living on the street if he is not at the very least a hopeless alcoholic; but more likely a hard-drug addict. In fact, the word "homeless" is almost never used in Norwegian. A person living on the street is referred to as a"narkis", which is derogative term for someone addicted to narcotics. I've had both good and bad experiences with these kinds of people, and I have a great deal of sympathy for many of them, as I reckon most of them had some pretty messed up circumstances that led them down that road. A good deal of them do things to sustain their addiction that make sympathizing with them almost impossible, though. /rant over

Nice metaphors, I'm not surprised you like writing. It's a nice idea, getting input from different perspectives all gathered in one place. I was taking a stroll earlier and thought of something I could write a post about on your blog, but it's just a one-shot, not something that could be made into a series of posts... I think.

It's good that you're thinking of your folks. Seems like a lot of people these days don't do enough of that. There's nothing worse than seeing someone who's a complete ingrate and don't even consider all the effort that went into raising them. If you've ever seen "A Goofy Movie", the saddest scene to me was always when Goofy was sitting alone in the car, rejected by his son for taking him to a "lame vacation." All the guy wanted to do was spend some quality time with his son. Luckily there's a happy ending, but that scene always stuck with him.

Being an only-child is getting a lot more common. My parents had unexpected twins, they were originally only intending to have two kids. Also, all three of my siblings are girls, and nowhere close to my age (oldest is 17 and the twins are 14), so I never considered them "friends" growing up. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side, there's a whole bunch of noise and a lot less attention growing up with three younger sisters, I can tell you that much.
