It's hard to say I'm truly with any singular team. I have a strange fascination with the Toronto Maple Leafs because of
this vid that one of my fave Youtubers did on them. I think any team that had Harold Ballard inflicted on them deserves some form of redemption. Just feels so weird that one of the original 6 has had such a painful legacy since the first expansion.
I'm also partial to Montreal but argh, the Habs look like they could be in for a painful rebuild after the injury hell the cup run last year inflicted. Price had my respect when he single handedly made the Flyers have to utterly grind out a series win. Also, you beat Pittsburgh in the play-ins that year - that was glorious. Serious question though - was Bergevin
as whack as what this makes out?
In terms of other Canadian teams:
Edmonton - Strangely amused yet chilled they are
wasting McDavid and Draisaitl with their utter incompetence. Hope that insanely expensive new stadium doesn't choke the city for decades.
Calgary - Gritty but...
will they still even have a team at this rate?
Vancouver - Geez...Demko is about all that gives them any form of credibility. Then again, a team's fanbase rioting after losing a Game 7 in the cup finals
doesn't have much
Winnipeg - Thugs. Hellebuyck, I'll make an exception for, but they're dirty.
Ottawa - Oh, where to start?! HA!
The start itself?!
The knucklepuck and Duchene trade?!
Mocking stillborns? To top it all off, that utter slime Melynk?!
I guess I'd like to see Seattle do well. Given how much the Mariners failures and the Sonics departure has hurt that city. I have some time for St. Louis -
Their legacy of failure to 2019 was pure pain. But that cup run - being last in the league halfway, firing their coach and starting a rookie goalie - was magic. Game 7 will be a permanent scar on Boston.
Teams I despise:
Vegas -
Getting a disgusting overcompensation from other teams in the expansion draft, their utterly crass behaviour towards anyone that isn't on their team. I relish in their mind-boggling meltdowns when they get to the true business end.
Boston - You know why, I know why. The reasons pile up. Let's just leave it at
their endless arrogance as a team, a fanbase and their media. Also applies to the Patriots, the Red Sox, etc.
San Jose - Not due to bad behaviour. But...they
were a clown show in their early days before becoming the premier squanderer of top talent and
signing extensions in utter madness.
Chicago - Until what was revealed in 2021, they wouldn't have been here.
But this was just vile.
Other thoughts:
Never forget 1994 and all the misery either side of it. Btw, how exactly is 'tabarnak' used as I believe the term is specific to French Canadians? Kanon told me it is not used in France.
Boudreau truly was the master of the barbeque pit
Keenan really was the definition of a volatile coach
