Well, that sounds a bit better, I don't think that would be banned-- at most just moved. But I think the people in discussion were talking more about wanting to see characters they like so it's a bit out of place. I think the problem is sometimes the franchise tends to simultaneously go too much yet too little on these things.

But I'll tell you why I don't think Fate screentime is mutually exclusive with others. The anime Shirobako has a gigantic cast, yet most of them are very distinct despite not getting much screentime. They have hopes and dreams that are easy to resonate with and it did it all within 24 episodes. The girl in my avatar for example, only had 2-3 episodes of real screentime with maybe one of them strictly devoted to her, yet it doesn't lessen the impact. It seems to be a quantity over quality issue. Basically a lot of the characters have presence without actually being there, and I think the Nanoha franchise could really pick up some of its cues. Another series that manages to do this and is probably more similar in genre is Mai-Hime; also handled it very well.

And like I said, some people were Fate fans and thus couldn't agree with that point and were still banned, so there's no way to really know.

Yea they didn't get outright bans, and I feel that was reasonable. It's very hard to be perma-banned from AS. And as for Kaijo, well, I did see his last post, and I think the tone wasn't really going to convince anyone of anything. Let's just say you really have to make concessions to really get things going.

    Well, here's the thing.

We have had text in black and white prohibiting shipping talk-- and that's constantly enforced. The situation you described, I disagree that not being a Fate fan made you banned, however, even if that were true, it's not set as a rule, nor did the Nanoha forum have any special rules that are affixed to it, nor are any of the rules of the sort made so that's only speculation.

Even as a Fate fan, I can see that the whole Nanofate focus of the story is not doing the franchise any favors. Vivid isn't doing me any favors reminding me of it. I'm sure a lot of you share this point, but just decided to pin it down on Fate.

But what do you think? I felt your post was borderline flamebait but you can take my opinion however you wish. If it really wasn't, then just consider how your post can be perceived and you may have to deal with the consequences of the response.

Rising, I was there too lol.

This is a cached version of the post that's gone now:

    Quote:
    b) treat this shipping as "serious business" and report posts from opposite ships... repeatedly... hoping to get these other people in trouble and for their ship to somehow "prevail".
    c) flame and bait people in other obvious ways that have been going on, in many cases, for years. (And then, as above, trying to get the other side in trouble when they take the bait.)
That was a central part of it! It was definitely against the rules. I hope that explains why I was thinking that.

Also, you are wrong. There were huge Fate fans that were kicked out. What the people had in common that were kicked was because they couldn't have a civil conversation. The Nanoha subforum isn't special; people of all fandoms have similar issues, and yet you don't see mass evictions happening everywhere. Oreimo had people wishing terrible things on Kirino. So what was the difference? The people there took it way too far.

But that's besides the point. My point is that if you know that a statement is going to lead to discussing banned topics, then don't do it. And there's a lot of passive aggressive stuff that's been going on for years, with people just posting potential flamebait that skirts the rules.

I really hate to say this, but there were people in both sides that were too busy playing the victim; it really takes two to tangle and I think the moderation was right. Sorry.

In all honesty, I've not read all of his posts so I don't know if you are right or not (I've got enough on my plate right now). If you are then I'm sure it must be frustrating and annoying. But on the flip side, if you are right then I'm even more certain your last post will make things worse for yourself. If he is what you say he is then there are two much better options:
    1) Ignore him (It's not like you have an obligation to read his posts or anything)
    2) Report him and let the moderators decide if he's unreasonable (they do actually take action on those types).

I told myself to never get involved again, but made a huge mistake with taking a peek this morning. My god this is like MSLN all over again.

I probably should delete my posts before the Mods eventually wake up and come knocking huh?

This is so strange. I swear the first one was turn based. WTF...

I guess I'm all clear to play the 3 games. For the longest time I was conflicted because Dragon Age 2&3 looked to have funner gameplay than the first game. I'm confused as hell, but whatever.
