Indeed, it just keeps getting better (vol 14 now). I enjoy the differences with the anime, especially Kamui and the other Dragon of Heavens deepening their friendship. It was a good idea to them live together at Clamp Campus.
I enjoy seeing Seishirou interact with other characters too. In the anime, he never even met his fellow dragon of the earth IIRC. Nonetheless, it was still a pretty damn good adaptation. I'm actually kind of surprised it was so faithful.
Volume 9 now. It's not too different from the anime so far, except for the graphic scenes (which are really not as shocking as I was led to think). Kind of looks like Clamp has a severed head fetish though
There hasn't really been any significant improvement when it comes to animation, but they've been following the manga lately and the few fillers in-between were pretty fun (read: no more zap jokes and lots of fanservice for Aoi fans) so it's definitely gotten better.
This week was Zen's introduction.
By the way, I watched the X movie yesterday and... wow, what a bloodbath!
Lots of fanservice too, with Kanoe walking around half-naked. The action and animation was very nice though, so it was a good watch in the end.
I also read Tokyo Babylon and I very much enjoyed it (the old man's story was so good ). I wish I had read it before I watched X so that I wouldn't have been spoiled the final twist. That was one depressing ending...
