I'm glad you enjoyed the Madoka movie.

    A few questions...

    1. You said two people bought body pillows. Do you mean that two people from your group bought body pillows, or all you saw buy body pillows was two people period (out of everybody at the movie theater). It's not necessarily a big difference, but if it's the latter, I definitely agree with you. I view that as "Well, that's good. It's only two people out of the most hardcore anime fans in all of British Columbia!".

    2. I'm glad to hear that the movie had minimal cuts.

    3. I'm not sure what the cutoff point for Madoka's first movie is, but I know that if you were marathoning the first five episodes of Madoka Magica, they're rather dialogue-heavy with only minimal bits of standout action (this is especially true if Madoka's 1st episode dream is cut down on). On essentially a "second viewing", I would think it might seem long-winded, yeah.

    4. Glad to hear it sold out. Roughly how many people in total were at the theater?

    5. You said it had subs. Was it in Japanese audio with English subs, or did it have both English dub and English subs?

Anyway, glad you enjoyed it! I look forward to hearing back from you on it.

So if I wanted to introduce someone to Madoka you think I should just stick to the series rather than the movies?

    Which imouto gag?

As for Madoka movies... well I guess I'll just have to wait for Bluray releases

I got this strictly as a portable comm/writing tool. So price uber alles. Newegg had a deal going.

    1 x ($399.99) lenovo IdeaPad S405 (59351953) Notebook AMD A-Series A6-4455M(2.10GHz) 14" 4GB Memory DDR3 1333 500GB HDD 5400rpm AMD Radeon HD 7500G

It doesn't have to play skyrim (though I may see what it can do).

Yeah, 11" doesn't work for me. 14" is about my minimum because I generally have several screens up.

Since I have your momentary attention - some feedback on my little story would be appreciated. Entertaining? Sucks? Unbelievable? Stupid? Too slow?

I keep reading Spice & Wolf as my go-to guideline for pacing and depth. My editor is fascinated (loves Glyc) but I'm always suspicious she's biased

Mostly my feedback is the ever increasing rate of the view count and the occasional PM.

I'd say the more influential shows for me in terms of what turned me into a "serious anime fan" were probably: Fruits Basket, Da Capo, Kanon (2002), Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, and Please Twins. I watched all of these at around the same time, and it was around that time that I joined this Forum. They all sort of define what ended up becoming my favourite genre. Of those, I suppose Da Capo is probably the most influential, as far as it having stuck with me the longest (and the continuing sequels probably helped with that).

There were a few other shows that I had seen before that on regular TV in my area, like Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, Escaflowne, and Gundam Wing. And there were a few other early-day fansubs like Love Hina, Chobits, and Steel Angel Kurumi that were more on the "romantic comedy" side. So there are probably actually a lot of things I saw that contributed to my fandom (and certainly there have been more "influential" shows over the years that followed). But yeah, I guess if you asked me to make a short list, the above would be the ones I'd probably list.

Hi. That was a longer response than anticipated.

Well, I can definitely agree with you on Ririchiyo. She is definitely an amazing kind of moe, though calling her a loli tsundere may or may not undersell her prowess. XD I think she sorta falls under Kuroneko's type of charm. Very sharp witted and a sharp tongue yet contains moments of weakness to melt one's heart with and has awesome fashion sense. And wonderful looks. Ririchiyo probaly wins in the looks category, but Kuroneko is my favorite in this area, and it's pretty hard to uproot her.

It goes without saying that I also like the character in my avatar-- Mio-- much, even if she lacks the fashion sense of the former two for similar reasons. (Very sharp tongue, says shit to startle people, and is secretly a perv yet doesn't seem to mind talking about it in a deadpan manner. I can relate! )

As for Eru, well, Genki-moe tends to be miss for me except in cases like Akira and Ohana. But I felt in the later two cases that they actually were very mature at times and of course the whole troubled past thing is like a +2 for me. XD Of course Ririchiyo would fall into this, and well the grand majority of my favorite characters as listed on MAL. Wakana in Tari Tari was quite moving for the short time her arc took.,m

I'm quite sure Shiina would be good too, though I'm just not keen on that series. Mari Okada tends to be a name to run to the hills these days (But it's an adaptation, so that's not fair)

Shinobu deserves to be counted as a new character since she really wasn't much in Bakemono. And yea she was just extremely charming, and has the personality of a centuries old cougar in the body of a loli. It's like Japan's wet dream! Definitely hard to stay away from, and liking donuts is definitely the punch. She's also what made the later half of Nise/Neko watchable. And I never expected to her to be like that. The moment she started talking, I burst out laughing and it just went uphill after that.

Oh, and then Kana Hanazawa. We can never have enough Kana Hanazawa. Well, the latest episodes of Shin Sekai Yori, have brought out her great performance with Maria as of late.

Roger, copy that. Right now, every spare moment is spent writing. I haven't even been playing Skyrim much lately. I did download the tool though.

My editor friend and I had strategic talk today. The story needs more fun and personality exposition between the crises, no disagreement there. The characters need to be less self-aware. Was trying that but not enough yet.

I wasn't looking forward to hammering on volume 1 but it might turn out to be fun.

    Hi Outfox.

What would be your moe character picks as of these recent seasons?
