Wow - Okada wrote that? I watched the whole series, actually. It was, as you say, completely ridiculous, but relatively fun. Reminds me of Kanokon except less ecchi. Basically, the lead is a total hottie who for some reason is obsessively in love with a tiny freshman who looks about 11, and as I recall has some weird ability to tune her "Beatrice" which is a kind of magic power.

Ooops... Looks like my post got deleted. Thanks for the heads up though. I didn't realize and next time I'll be more careful. >_>''''

Yup, that's what I meant - the movie. I'm sure as hell not gonna touch it!

Nope, not even that. I want those six hours of my fucking life back - and that doesn't even count the (admittedly amusing) time I spend writing blog posts on it.

Bill 156 or no, inelegant and clumsy violence for its own sake does nothing for me. I loathe 156 and I don't think the kind of violence in Blood-C should be banned, but I really don't want to watch it either.

There isn't enough single malt in the world to get me drunk enough to sit through one more minute of Blood-C...

While I've seen a number of the older Noitamina shows, I don't feel I have enough experience with josei to actually know how Zakuro mixed josei and seinen. I mean, I know its very different from my other favourite animes with a heavy romance bent, which are shows like Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu, EF: A Tale of Memories, and Sola. But I'd be hard pressed to really pinpoint the differences despite knowing they're there.

I would definitely cite the setting and chemistry between the character - both romantic and humourous - as major appeals though.

(I've never managed to convince my girlfriend because she doesn't like Hoshino Lily's art. Then again, oddly enough my girlfriend strongly prefers moe/bishoujo art styles to those typically found in shoujo or josei... and has gone so far as to claim Hanasaku Iroha is too shoujo looking for her tastes. Which surprised me since her favourites among the anime she saw when she was younger were Cardcaptor Sakura and Utena.)

Ah, so I take it the winner is a manga we anime folk haven't seen yet.

In any case, I know there was a special Bakuman issue of WSJ relased this week. I assumed that meant it had a bunch of the manga-in-manga inside.
