I agree with Yuuki combining Madoka and Sayaka's traits. Homura and Hitomi... I agree that she exhibits traits of both but I'm not necessarily sure that Hitomi is the actual inspiration for Togo's gentler side.

Here's how I see it after integrating your thoughts on Yuuki and further exploring some of my own ideas:
Spoiler for Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru:

What I'm less sure on is how many of these similarities arise from conscious attempts to mimic Madoka and how many are cases of less conscious inspiration. The relatively natural feel to the story suggests to me that at least some of it is the latter.

Since Darth is doing it, so will I. In no particular order:
    Azusa (K-On)
    Zakuro (Otome Youkai Zakuro)
    Taiga (Toradora)
    Kuroneko (OreImo)
    Ririchiyo (Inu x Boku SS)
Hitagi (Bakemonogatari - I think her inclusion in the list is warranted whether or not she 100% meets a given definition)

Whereas from Darth's list only Mai and movie version Sheryl would get my vote for favourite from their respective shows.

BTW, given that I'm a Kuroneko fan when it comes to OreImo, would it suprise you to know that Eriri is my favourite in Saenai Heroine?

    Edit:
Random Yuuki Yuuna related comment... I'm thinking YY's cast is actually a little more Madoka inspired than I originally gathered:
    Homura + Sayaka = Togo
    Madoka = Yuuki + Itsuki
So merge two characters and split one. The other three have fairly obvious counterparts.

Well, Mai Tokiha counts as a tsundere, and I really like her. I'm also rather fond of Natsuki though not as much as Mai.

I also really like the TV series version of Sheryl Nome, but you've only seen part of Macross F TV and calling her a tsundere is probably oversimplifying a rather complex character.

Among my old favorites, Kaname Chidori from Full Metal Panic! stands out (she and the three above are basically my top favorite female anime characters). Among newer shows there's Yusa Emi from Hataraku Maou-Sama. She's unusually extreme for my tastes, but she's also got an unusually strong justification for her tsun behaviour. Then there's Yui from Total Eclipse -the show may not have been that great but I did like her character.

There are various other tsunderes that I like such as Wakana from Tari Tari and Yomi from Ga-Rei Zero, but they aren't on quite the same level.

Are you planning to vote in the AS choice awards this year? There's only a little over 48 hours left to vote.

Well not the exact words, but more or less the same idea.

Rather enjoying it so far, it is nice to see these girls animated after so long. Also liking the approach to how it is being handled currently.

Oh RRR. That kancolle joke is rather old! But, in the light of it, rear admiral is best admiral.

So in spite of all the hand wringing over the ending, it looks like Yuuki Yuuna is a late bloomer sales wise:
    Volume 1 first week sales (mid-December): 4871
Volume 1 sales, most recent available data (mid-January): 10373
Volume 2 first week sales: 7664

Still feels like many people I know haven't heard of it let alone seen it, but it makes me feel optimistic about a sequel.

lol yeah for sure... even with Inaho's upgrade he's still prolly the least expressive character quite the opposite of Honoka indeed. =x
