I can certainly empathize with that. I grew up pretty poor too, especially once my three younger sisters appeared in rapid succession. I was lucky enough to get a Genesis, but very late in its life-span. And hell yeah, you better believe I loved, and still love, Sonic the Hedgehog!

This twin theory of yours is growing more likely by the minute. You've tried Koudelka, and you love Silent Hill 2? Silent Hill 2 is one of my favorite games, it's a masterpiece at every level.

With friends, most games can be fun. Except for me, I'm an elitist, picky bastard who doesn't like anything. JRPGs can be pretty cool, but I don't play too many of them because they require such a huge investment of time. I love the ones I've actually played through, though. Some of the Final Fantasy games and the Shadow Heart series being some of my favorites. Koudelka is awesome too, but no one's ever played it except me.

I like retro gaming too. I had a Sega Genesis (and only a Sega Genesis) growing up though, and that puts me at odds with most retro gamers.

Aye, me neither. Haven't played an FPS since I was 13 years old and played Counter-Strike at internet cafes.

Nowadays I buy maybe one game a year. I feel old and curmudgeonly, but I've mostly lost interest in the gaming industry. I sort of burned out with the fading of the PS2. Though I do own a PS3, which was a relatively bad investment in retrospect.

Would your name happen to start with a "T" and would you happen to live in a section of British Columbia, Canada?
You'll find out soon enough. By the way, the picture of you in your pajamas looks just darling on my kitchen wall.

Never had red bull, but that's a pretty horrible waste of a life if the story is true.
Sadly, energy drinks have really taken off the last few years around these parts, seems like a new brand comes out every month. It's really popular with gamers who like to stay up all night and play "insert name of newest, most popular FPS because I'm horribly out of touch."

Hah, maybe some sort of quantum fluctuation accelerated time in my vicinity, and the universe itself conspired to keep us apart? Sounds pretty feasible to me.

Well, yeah, coffee isn't a big deal, I think. But it does worry me slightly that people drink like four cups a day just to keep themselves going. As for energy drinks, I've never felt any sort of effect from drinking them ever, and they taste incredibly synthetic, with an almost metallic aftertaste. Having not actually done any research on it, I'd still wager that they can't be too good for you.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of that too. The last party I was at, there was this guy who so drunk he was constantly yelling. He wasn't mad or anything, he just didn't realize what he was doing; I guess he thought he was speaking in normal volume. He had to have his stomach pumped at the hospital later, I heard. I'll pass on that myself too. I also live just a block away from half a dozen bars and clubs... guess what I run into if I venture out after midnight on a non-work day..

Coffee smells delicious. I like it just fine, but it smells so much better than what you're getting.

I'm mostly the same way, I don't drink either. It's not worth the hangover, and when it comes to taste... you're not missing out on much in my opinion. Most of it tastes like poison or "insert obscene comparison." And of course, a lot of people act like apes on steroids when they ingest it.

Aye, keep those fiends on a leash!

If you actually enjoy drinking, and act as their guardian, you're a saint. And either way, you must have the patience of one to put up with a bunch of drunks while sober. Or maybe your friends just keep their cool while under the influence?

Keeping drunk people from acting stupid? What are you, God himself?

I can get get a little too annoyed when people are pricks unprovoked, and I tend to respond in kind, which of course isn't the most mature response either.

I take it you don't drink, then? Being sober around drunks is typically a pretty bad experience.
