    Shush you.

Anyway, are you watching Shingeki no Bahamut? I was really impressed with the première tbh.

And I've hardly posted this summer as well, and when I do it's just to nitpick you

But serious, this director/ writer combo can be really self aware, this is the very first scene of joshiraku, I honestly wondered if this was a case of GG trolling with the subs but no it wasn't.
    Another brief example here

Nope ... though of course that is an interesting "side harmony" to the whole image too. ^^

It was a compliment but also an observation - sort a poetic symbolism of a few of the characteristics that jump out to me when I consider the cumulative "image" from your posts, I guess. Here:

Ahh ... well ... that makes sense. You know ... you are definitely a very loyal sort of creature, aren't you?

Kinda remind me of a chow-chow. That's so cuuuuute. XD

Tbh I spent a LOT more time in the Hyouka thread. Tari Tari some here and there as it aired, but Kokoro Connect I dropped half way through the season. (My main focus was on Hyouka, which I actually thought was the AOTY in which it aired.)

But why be upset if other people choose to discuss something else? If it does something for them why get bent out of shape? All sorts of people discuss series that I think are boring or even bad and have for years afaiac, but so what? Why not come to the forums to discuss the things you love, why you love them and enriching your experience therefrom first and foremost?

No, no, no, no ... I was protesting that you would put Sakurosou and NagiAsu on the same level as Kokoro. I agree Kokoro is bad, but for different reasons. The angstiness was made all the worse because of the dry, wooden philosophical classroom style monologues of the characters, as if they were reading from a French existentialist novelist. -_-

Neither Sakurosou nor NagiAsu had that. At all.

That you should equate NagiAsu on the same level with Sakurosou I can sorta kinda get, but Kokoro Connect?

You are banished to Siberia with only your underwear and a spatula for such blasphemy!

I'm curious as to what you think the first two Madoka films did significantly worse than the TV series, as the only major changes I remember noticing was that Mami's backstory got cut and the lack of "this comes later" teaser at the beginning. I actually thought the films were paced better.

I absolutely loved Shin Sekai Yori's world building and utterly engrossing plot (aside from the weak second quarter or so - oddly enough also the stretch of Hyouka I thought was weakest). But I love Hyouka's character subtleties - particularly in the later episodes - and ultra-expressive animation more. Some of this make come down to taste: I know you're not a Chitanda fan, whereas I dig the loads of details put into how she was animated - ie. her eating the whiskey chocolates in the background during that one episode, or her "deer in the headlights" look after Irisu finishes advising her on how to persuade people. And I freaking love the ending scene.

Aside Hyouka my favourite KyoAni shows are probably Haruhi 2006 and Kanon 2006, though part of that may be nostalgia talking. I'd probably consider them for a top ten list but eliminate them fairly early on. I did like their work on FMP, but I'm not sure I consider it the great leap forward from the Gonzo animated first season that many people do.

Madoka is a contender for the lower half of my top ten but I'm not sure I have enough personal bias towards it for it to win. PenguinDrum isn't quite my thing. Steins;Gate was great but I just don't find it memorable enough for me personally. In places it reminded me of the visual novel Ever 17 and I liked that better (and if Reckoner reads this, yes, that's despite the slog of having to clear some rather "meh" routes to unlock the true one).

Just to be contrary I will post my list as well, but remember that this mainly reflects the enjoyment I got out of each series.
