Lottery tickets for the chance to order seiyuu-idol unit concert tickets before the general public.

I am not making this up, and this is not the first case of an idol show using live concert incentives to move a lot of units. Uta no Prince-sama's second season also did it - the question is, will Love Live's subsequent volume sales return to normal levels like UtaPri's did?

Fluff: Ultimately inconsequential SoL or light novel style tropes. It kind of covers both.

Glasslip: slightly inclined towards your choice but I have to say she seems too hyper to evoke Hiromi. I'm also not feeling it on the tsundere.

Brynhildr was looking like 2014 favourites list material for me and still might end up there but the second half definitely hasn't matched up to the first... the first half had some really tense moments that reminded me of why Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu remains on my all time favourites list after so long. However, a couple recent "wham" moments just came across as, uh... ham fisted and flat. And it really drags the show down.

    lol yeah.

I had a weird memory reminding things like that. Usually those who are the 'throw the rock, hide your hand' type.

I'd at least recommend watching Brynhildr. It's so hilariously wrong in so many ways.

Have you watched Sakasama no Patema and Harmonie? Same director and writer from Time of Eve.

Main thing I notice is you don't tend to appreciate having much "fluff" (be it in tone or tropes) in your moe shows, which doesn't seem to be the style this past years and a bit... though with Ano Natsu de Matteru, Hyouka and Tari Tari finding success in fairly rapid succession in 2012, surely it'll come back at some point? Then again, all those had a pedigree.

I really have nothing at the moment. I honestly think you'd be better off taking your chances with some of the stuff I've tried to get you to watch in the past like Otome Youkai Zakuro and Inu x Boku SS than with most of the recent moe crop (was going to plug Taisho Yakyuu Musume again but the more I review, the more I get the impression it might be too fluffy for your taste in terms of tone. Though still probably more up your alley than some of the recent stuff).

If he didn't like Hyouka, Hanasaku Iroha, Uchouten Kazoku and Shin Sekai Yori I'd have to say that your tastes are closer to mine than his. Though on the other hand, I occassionally ship, like K-On (and Gochuusagi and...), and sort of like No Game No Life* - though Seikoku no Dragonar is by far my favourite guilty pleasure of the season thus far.

(It has kemonomimi and gorgeous Sakurasou style artwork, but I have a love/hate relationship with the over the top characterization and fanservice.)

I don't suppose you could clarify what you consider to have been the good "moe shows" of years past? I'm not quite sure how you draw the line on what's a moe show and what isn't.

Nice to know you care about me so much.

    What are you watching anyway?

Chances of Pocari having to ask me what Sola is: 0. Plus, the episode 3 comment doesn't quite fit his still. You need to be more ironic and less outraged.

Next question is who would impersonate Pocari and likes Atelier? Probably the person Pocari said keeps trying to get him into that series.

(Just realized that the ebay listing is for a different Kishida illustrated novel... making me wonder if the Hisaya-Kishida collaboration was actually released.)

Somehow, I'm reading more Rethice than Pocari in those last two.

I don't think Kanon's head writer (Naoki Hisaya) was ever involved with Tari Tari, there was evidence that lead to speculation he might be but people (including me) jumped the gun on it.

Hisaya has been involved in a number of works since Kanon: a VN called Moon Childe, Sola (you do know this, right?), a novel series called Sakura Kagura, and an anime slated to air this fall called Sora no Method.

Sakura Kagura was published by Infinite (or was it? I can't find evidence of actually being released online... this turned up in the search but then I realized its another author's book), a production company that has also been involved with Tari Tari, Nagi no Asukara and Glasslip (and one non-PA Works show... Da Capo III), and, interestingly enough, had Hanasaku Iroha's character designer as its illustrator.

The speculation/confusion came about because Infinite announced that Naoki Hisaya would be working on an original project for them shortly after Tari Tari was announced, without announcing what that project was.

(BTW, a thought just occurred to me? You know how the bondage stuff in Hanasaku Iroha's third episode was modelled by a male employee of PA Works? How much of Okada's emasculation phase coincides with her having contact with PA Works? Maybe this stuff went two ways.)

More so than just bland and boring, I remember some of the Tari Tari promotional stuff (the stuff just before the anime aired, not the fantastic early concept art) looking kind of derpy.

BTW, even if you don't have time to watch the whole thing I recommend checking out Taisho Baseball Girl's first episode some time. Seriously, it has a silly musical sequence in it.
