We all know who will win Souma whether others will like it or not.

He already raise the flag of "I'll make you clearly say its good with that mouth of yours" to Erina long ago.

That is the end I expect but don't want. It's a typical type for Shounen manga that doesn't include romance as one of the genres of focus.

You see, Jouichirou's still has to have some woman in his heart to bring out his god-like cooking skill. And the final aim of Soma is to exceed his father, so maybe in order to do that, he will develop a way of cooking that allows him to cook at his fullest without the need of any woman. That mean in the end, Soma will choose cooking over all the girls. It's what I call the biggest troll ending.:heh:

is there any say what happen to souma mother is she dead or left them ?

nothing is said, for all we know she may be alive having fun with erina's grandfather

Ladies and Gents, it is WAY too premature (excluding the manga getting cancelled early) to determine who Souma is going to end up with - Erina is a main character and is one of Soma's love interests, but she is also a character in and of her own right. I would talk about the status quo argument of the primary main characters relationship but don't think it applies here. With the status quo argument the main female causes the male (or vice versa) to make a major change in their life effectively delineating that character from their status quo (Bleach, To-love-ru, girls bravo, etc) - that character has a major effect on the main character - Ichigo and Rukia for example, and will most often be the main love interest. (Not always) Erina did not cause souma to come to school that was his dad - as such they don't have that initial positive connection. (Early conflict can be just as powerful) At this point, the issue of their relationship will be addressed as it is one of the primary conflicts of the story, but it does not automatically lead to that main couple conclusion.

Manga: where female characters only exist for the purpose of becoming a love interest of one of the main characters, because apparently women serve no other role in life.

That's called shonen actually.

For shojo it's the opposite.

I'm probably in the minority, but I've been growing a disdain for harems or manga with the MC having multiple love interest in general for a while now. I won't derail the thread with my multiple page essay/rant on this topic, because it will probably get very ugly in here. :heh:

I Just read the chapter. I personally think Souma won't end up with Megumi. Yes, I agree that Erina doesn't get much time in the manga like Megumi. But when she does, it's always a huge development to the story. Let's not forget she still doesn't know that Jōichirō is the father of Souma.

Also let's not forget what Souma said in the early chapters to Erina. 'I will make you accept my cooking'. Erina is an important mc to this story. The oneshot is also only about Souma and Erina. Erina is not just a random character.

I think the mangaka is doing this on purpose keeping Erina in the shadows for now. But that doesn't mean she has no chance at all to end up with Souma. I think it's rather predictable that Erina is the ending girl.

This is shonen manga. It's to be expected that kind of devolpment. I think you didn't read much manga, did you? Because you wouldn't say that if you did. There are also a lot of manga with that kind of devolpment. I don't see the reason why you should be angry about why such a devolpment happens a lot in shonen mangas. If you don't like it don't read it. i'm happy the manga library is pretty big with different genres.Go read My-hime or other mangas instead. You're in the wrong thread.

Well this development is expected. So from now on I am hoping one of the girls will develop into Soma's rival and the other into love interest. Either Megumi grow out of this and stop depending on Soma then learn to compete with Soma or Erina stay as right now and keep competing with Soma.

Okay I know my mind is in the gutter on this one, but you can't tell me that the page with Kanon hand-pumping going "mmmmmmmm~", doesn't look "naughty".... lol :heh:

*Ahem* well Megumi finally notices her feelings for Souma, good for her. And something tells me Kanon is going to be involved with the finals somehow.

How can people still root for Erina after reading this chapter.

Megumi is mama. Soma is papa. They are such a loving couple.
