@Cyz , she is Yukari Yakumo
@ Mr.ghost a unrelated comment: you might have some problem with the way you used that text on your signature.

Haladflire65 2010-04-05 21:04

I tried a different lighting scheme. Which looks better?

Any ideas on which text to put in? My first idea is "Night falls, money follows."

The bright area looks a bit unmatching with the rest of the sig wich is dark.

C&C?

note: the one on the sig is Shikieki

I like overall the style of the sig, it's really good, my only problem would be that pink border wich looks a bit of.

@ fraility great choice of render and good lightning, just need to add something on the empty space.
My first try C&C would be welcome;

I don't know, the gary scale doesn't look to atractive with the type of render and background.

Love the colors and the style, the font is a bit of, probably a more "artistic2 or 2gamour" one would do. ;)

This is Yuka Kazami according to two sites. I think it was a fan-made render.

It's a good style, I think it may need a border isnce the bg is a bit bright.

I'm guessing the character is Kazami Yuuka.

@ escimo: The animation speed seems too fast to me.

ganbaru 2010-04-06 08:56

Haladflire65 I would go with the 2nd version
escimo is she supposed to be on a train? I think th the darkest spot ( on the animation) might be too dark compared to the rest of the animation.
Endrance where's the rest of the tree's shadow?

In fact, the original picture was gray scale, otherwise I would have kept at least the eyes's color.
My second try, C&C are always welcome:

^ I like the rectangular version.

Version 1. I'll probably find something to change before final submissions.

Hmmm... looks way to simple, like a mere crop image, but I could be wrong. Well the colors and contrast are okay,. the text is a bit lost among the sky tough.

Also, Endrance makes a non-animated sig! Spooky... O_O

In that case, I think you could work something here very cool, since in photoshop it's really easy to add color to a grayscale image, you could work a really cool efect and style with this sig, I sugest to stick with the square sig. ;)

Reimu Hakurei.

Overall I like it, can't think in anyhing it needs... maybe a border.

Periwinkle 2010-04-06 13:13

I have no idea what the name of the charactes are, but... here are my attempts :heh:

http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...otwfractal.png

...yeah, file sizes are a bit too big, but I'll fix that :heh:

mero 2010-04-06 13:15

The second one is better by far periwinkle. Nice color choice.

@evil rick - i don't like borders on bright sigs. I personally try to avoid borders as much as possible actually. :p

Haladflire65 2010-04-06 15:24

I tried reworking the text, a totally different style. Should I stay with it or just choose a simpler font?

http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/i...2ver04copy.jpg

CrowKenobi 2010-04-06 15:38

I like the font, but perhaps making it a little bit more readable (maybe more gray then black) will work out. :D

Thanks for the suggestion :) I also got feedback saying that the style of the font didn't fit the sig so I tried another combo.

I liked that font!

The new choice doesn't excite me, though... See if any fonts here tickle your fancy.

This is Yuka Kazami according to two sites. I think it was a fan-made render.

The shiny bubbles on the bottom make the background too distracting. Try to bring the focus towards your render using contrast, etc. Also, it seems a bit muted. Are you intentionally keeping stronger blacks and whites out of your signature? You could try to use some differentiation between the values on the render and the background. Right now, the contrast is stronger on the sides than in the center, which usually isn't what you want.

I'm just throwing out random ideas, since I can't test them right now.
