Does anyone know if this is continuing off from where Season 1 left off? I haven't read/watched anything new from Re: Zero since the first season ended years ago. I just want to know if I have to catch up on anything.
Really excited to start this new season and pretty amazed and surprised that I was able to maintain anime only status after all this time without being spoiled. :D |
Yep!
Other than a few things that were left out of the 3rd Arc (ep 12-25) there shouldn't be any problems with direct a continuation. |

Thankfully the series has always been more that as the suffering has only been part of it. Despite being an dark fantasy it has lot of light aspects. It's about not nihilism at all, but overcoming enormous difficulties for people to achieve their wishes.

thanks for the info

I wonder if the re-edited season 1 will be simulcasted. It would be a good opportunity to rewatch it, which I'm going to do anyway because I realized after watching Isekai Quartet that I've already forgotten quite a few things.

Keeping my expectations in check for the re-edit, but I really do hope there will actually be some new scenes, mainly of things that weren't able to be put in the adaptation. Otherwise it will be a nice excuse to for me to rewatch it for the 5th time. :)

Promo video for the Re-edit. For non-LN readers, beware of the spoiler that appears at 2:50. Best to cut off the video before then,
Dynamic tag cannot be rendered. (PrintableThread) |
The re-edit is coming to Crunchyroll as "Re:ZERO Director's Cut".

I'll watch this version if episodes come out on a day that isn't too packed. The episode being double length is a bit bothersome for me.
|
Episode 1 of the re edit is largely identical aside from a few scenes being mere SECONDS longer and a change in ED timing but it runs for about 3 minutes and 30 seconds longer than the original (minus the new black screen ED it's only 17 seconds longer). Episode 1 of the original was already a double episode that ran as long as 2 episodes with or without OPEDs.

Watching the Director's cut, I cannot unhear Gigguk's RE:Zero SFX.

Looking back, it's amusing that Subaru didn't have to die to get Isekai'd.

For the end of the Director's Cut ep3, why did Subaru get attacked in the mansion at night like that? I still don't understand it. He was vomiting all thru the hallways. Why would Ram attack him?
|
It was Rem, but she had already decided he was a threat and probably didn't even notice what state he was in.
