Well, this gonna take a while:



Currently Kaga is in the docks with a 24 hour repair time. Too lazy to splash a bucket on her face since I needed the time to recoup at least some of the resources. It's even funnier since I managed to actually get all the non-event Kagerous and Yuugumos from doing E-3 and E-4, but no Taigei or Akitsu Maru to show for it.

I used BB for crafting sanshiki. And I'll be blunt: You can't really expect to get exactly what you need in a mere 5 or 6 attempts in crafting, especially when you're new and thus low HQ level.

As for radars, they all share the same recipe... but I don't recommend crafting them now as they have high chance of failure and are very expensive: 10/10/251/250

E 4 done restocking some resources fuel 35k+ steel 88k+ ammo 122k+ baux 34k+ buckets 1045 ( I hope clear e 5 & e 6 or back to stock pile ... the event ends at aug 28 right ??)

So I wondered why my fleet couldn't hit a damn thing at the end of E-3, and KanColle viewer tells me that it's because my fleet's morale is falling super low. Do I really have to sparkle 12 ships? Or was this just a fluke?

You shouldn't need to. As long as you don't sortie when the Mamiya buttom is flashing (less than 40 morale), you should be fine.

Just wondering, what formations were you using throughout E3?

I took them off the KanColle Shuukai blog.
Third formation until the boss, and then fourth formation for the boss.

Afaik, if by missing a lot you mean that your 2nd fleet isn't hitting anything via shelling, then I can tell you that it's normal. The main damage output from the 2nd fleet using battle formation (4th) is from torpedoes. This formation shines when your DDs are loaded with torpedoes (I used the lucky trios for cut-in). Up until the tougher boss composition of the final form of E5, my escort fleet was able to consistently clear every trash except the boss by the end of torpedo phase.

The first fleet, however, shouldn't be having too much trouble hitting anything other than the boss.

Actually I've always found it annoying how the escort fleet keeps on MISSING even with T-cross advantage. Never heartening, that.

Waiting for all daily quests that aren't World 2 boss quests to finish, then starting on E-4.

IMHO though, the combined fleet mechanic itself is already OP enough. If the escort ships have near the accuracy of what we have during normal battle, it would be pretty game breaking. I have no problems letting the CVs and BBs do the shelling job.

I think the mechanic could do some more tweaking though. Right now it still feels like my escort fleet is doing most of the work and not the actual 1st fleet, which imo kinda defeats the purpose of the idea behind a combined fleet.... :heh:

Finally done with this event... never again, really OTZ.

The last push was completely unexpected because:
1) just by coincidence, it was the only boss battle where the support fleet didn't show up
2) All ships were in that state starting the night battle, while the boss only took 60 damage at most, the second Seiki was half dead, and the wo class was still alive.
3) KTKM said screw it and asswhooped the boss with a double attack dealing 288 then 200 on the boss, just like that

E1: 7k/5k/5k/0k 55 buckets
E2: 7k/7k/4k/0k 94 buckets
E3: 12k/11k/8k/10k 78 buckets
E4: 10k/12k/8k/8k 66 buckets
E5: 13k/11k/10k/5k 88 buckets
E6: 70k/44k/77k/5k 301 buckets

total resources consumption:
119k fuel / 90k ammo / 112k steel / 28k bauxite / 682 buckets / 9 damecon / 2 mamiya


E6 was pretty much grinding my sanity to the extreme. It took me a little more than 100 sorties within 17 hours with several breaks overall, but actually, the killzone alone took me 10 hours non stop. I had PTSD-like surges similar to Fall 2013 E4 at some point.
And yeah, the map pushed me to the edge to the point I had to use 9 damecon et 2 mamiya.

Wait for it. Next time they gonna do a BBH + CVH combo as final boss. I don't even wanna imagine the pain.

That's actually one of my worries: due to their trackrecord with both Spring and Summer Event, it is highly possible that we have the Kuubou Seiki AND the Senkan Seiki / Whathever new boss together. Speaking of which, the former hardblocked me way more than the Senkan Seiki on the second node of Spring E5.
It is just that ridiculous that anyone, even Yamato Class, can be sent straight to red even without green T. The same can be said for the new enemy DD who can just tank any non Yamato shelling attack and wreck things at night. In fact, these new DD are WAY worse than the ri class at night.


In general, the new mechanics idea were fine, but this event was probably the most imbalanced and silly to date, save perhaps Fall 2013 E4.

1) Announcing the fleet lock was fine, and does force admirals to use all of their kanmusu, but they dropped the ball HARD by hiding the fact none could take part of E6. Not only this map has nothing to do with midway, but no one would have expected yet another map considering the midway hype AND the fact we never had more than 5 maps up to now.
Following this, I think they should have made some mechanics that would let you call back a ship on a given map, but at the cost of... let's say time. 7 days would not be unreasonable but well.

2) Compared to Spring event, Summer event has WAY more compass trolling and on critical portions of certain maps to boot. E1 and E2 were simply a token of sadism and/or a return of poorly designed mechanics that was back from Fall.

3) As already stated, the carrier fleet is nothing close to the main fleet, since every kill is dependent on the ESCORT. Talk about an oxymoron.

4) They forcefully put too many mechanics together, which resulted to too many constraints for players.
Not only we were forced to carefully choose who to deploy on which map, but these decisions are dictated by fleet composition, LOS requirements and whatnot. More often than not, those requirements were WAY too harsh (E6 boss LOS condition is absurdely high. If you don't have like 8 planes worth of LOS, don't even try). The risk taken made the RNG aspect of the game way worse than it is already.

5) Enemies were way too much on steroids. Seiki girls aside, the new DD, the Wo class with midway planes, and flag TA crawling everywhere were just a major PITA. Following this point, Boss gauges are abnormally large this time. I know they want to compensate the lack of regeneration, but killing at least 10 times?

6) Balance is again way too silly. Besides the composition issues, we have again dangerous enemy formation available (damn the Kuubou Seiki with DOUBLE LINE in E6). Meanwhile, I can't help but rant and call bullshit that any admiral lower than lvl100 would have only 1 Seiki at the end of E6.

7) Rewards are... underwhelming, for the lack of better words. Sure, I'm one of those who still say that "Sakawa was worth the trouble", but Al/Mi is arguably not on the same caliber. Really, they should have rewarded Shinano at this point considering the sheer absurd hardship with E6. Or else, they should have leave the event to E5, and buffed a bit more the E5 boss as result.

This is my main gripe for the new mechanic. I'm happy my CVs are doing more things but... it doesn't seem to be enough. Escort fleet stole most of the spotlight :uhoh:

Ever since Spring event, CV are merely AA defense turret and double attack enabler. I'm not even sure if the devs will do anything about that now that we are done with midway...

Glad to see someone else thinking in my way; unless they are already planning Kai 2 for some of the DD events, the only interesting new ships from the events might be Ooyodo and Unryuu because of their equipment.

But some of the new equipment ( the prototype 41cm turret, maintenance personnel and fleet command facility) are interesting, even useful.

To me, Summer Event rewards are on the same caliber as Spring, although we gain a little more utility compared to "mascots".
That said, the difference in difficulty and commitment is so different that I feel quite unsatisfied.

At least, their warnings were always accurate. I guess the new minimum requirement of resources is 80k whenever the devs mention we need a stash of resources.

You can try doing 4DDs branching, which takes you to the south route, but has a slightly higher risk of retreating due to the Ta-class at the shelling node.

How much BS is the 3CV, 2BB, 1CAV and 1CL, 2CA, 3DD composition then? Same chance at landing at the northeast node as the 4CV 2BB setup?

With my Ammo, I simply can't afford missed chances y'see.
