Or the name could be a metaphor for being a war machine. I think I would like that over a more literal application in the show, like how SEED was applied, which is probably one of the worst application of a show's name within the show.

Far as I can tell, "Tekketsu" means "Exposure". I'm fairly certain that the name G-Tekketsu (G-Exposure) is just a fancy name for the reveal of whatever the new series.

Tekketsu (てっけつ) refers to two things:

鉄血 = blood and iron; military might
剔抉 = gouging (out); exposure

The first definition makes more sense in a Gundam context than the second, which is why most people are going for the first.

First time I've heard the Blood and Iron bit. Pretty much every attempt at finding alternative translations for the word has only given me the exposure/gouging translation and nothing else.

That's why you use a J/E dictionary and not just a random Google search.:heh:

Speaking of Google search, apparently Tekketsu (鉄血) refers to the Tekketsu Kinnōtai (鉄血勤皇隊; known as the Blood and Iron Student Corps), which was a squadron of 14-17 y.o. Japanese teen soldiers who fought in the Battle of Okinawa during WWII.

I get the feeling of a knight inspired design.

Yeah, it's got some weird proportions for a main Gundam. What seems to be some huge, bulky/round shoulder pads, too, haha.

Though the latest update did make it clear that while it's got the Unicorn-ish colors on the shoulder, the torso seems to be standard Gundam fare, top part being blue with yellow vents separating it from the waist, that is apparently white again.

Pretty excited to see how the whole thing's gonna turn out. If I had to say, the head is the biggest ??? for me at the moment, because it seems to be in a weird angle, like it's looking down and really inclined to the front. The v-fins also seem to be kinda huge, and there seem to be four 'points'? The two yellow ones and two, shorter, white ones, unless those are part of the head's design itself.

And on the recent rumours, if Taniguchi is handling this then I'll be incredibly hyped. He's such a talented guy. After AGE and G-Reco I'm hoping we get someone who's more 'approachable'. :heh:

could it be that the reason why the Gundam has an exposed waist is that its missing its iconic vital component, the Core Fighter unit?
well considering the Gundam is shown in non operational form that is with cables still attached to its body & might be still under construction or testing.

Well, it looks like it's going to be revealed section by section as time goes by. Right now, the machine's right arm is exposed. It's white, but with a purple extension behind it. I'm still not convinced this is a protagonist's machine, but an antagonist. The whole thing still has a menacing air about it.

Well, I could use some change in my MC Gundams. Although the “goody two-shoes”-looking gundam is a staple. Just once, I want to see a main Gundam that looks like a “bad boy”. Deathscythe & Nataku are close, but let’s face it, they are not the main Gundams. We already have bulky Gundam as main before (ZZ, FAZZ, Titus, Age-3), I want something more refreshing. For one, I really want them to ditch the usual MC gundam RBYW colors (Nu, Hi-Nu, Unicorn & Double-X are good minor departure with only two colors that dominate the overall looks).
