Yea that's crazy. I had forgotten that too. Thinking back, Inoue actually did have a unique character and it just devolved into a bland boring damsel in distress type. That's a shame. Chad also had a more interesting character about conflict in violence, but then devolved into a bland punching machine. That's pretty poor writing on Kubo's part. Even if he intended those characters to get less panel time, they should have at least kept those traits and had development arcs along those lines.

i would say after/while the fullbring arc happened, she became a strong woman on her own until her mind got manipulated and she lost all purpose in the story, having uryu, ichigo, chad and orihime deal with the fullbringers would have been a FAR more satisfying ending :/

and than of course the last arc happened which basically killed her character for me :(

She wasn't really any different in her role in the last arc than she was in the SS arc besides being less scared of attacking the enemy and backing Ichigo up. Would've been nice to see more than just that though.

True. This type of thing is extremely few and far between throughout the series though.
