Doh, missed that, makes it look as if only the eastern edge plus NZ are part of the union.

No one cared about Western-Australia anyway. (j/k):p:D

China vs Japan thing, considering that both countries rely a lot on fossil fuel importing and fossil fuel running wouldn't that mean they're economic rivals in the Asian market? Or perhaps the source of their fuel got into conflict with each other.

Hmm.. I wonder where Australia is in all of this since they aren't with any of the 3 main groups.

They're back to being a bunch of aboriginals and now they're hunting kangaroos while the rest the world is fighting with cool mechas ^^ On a more serious note they're part of the Union, you can see it in the opening.

I love Engrish, they managed to spell the Mediterranean Sea correctly (and most of the nations as well) but they can't spell Turkey (Turkei, close enough I admit) and Spanien, Spanien what the hell is that some sort of dog?

Anyway good episode, Graham = new masked character without the mask ;p

killer3000ad 2007-10-14 03:30

Bah, Australia isn't important enough for them to properly show the whole continent, but anyway, they've shown the Kurdish conflict and the Sri Lankan civil war so far. What modern day conflict will Sunrise bring up next? :eyespin:

LightningZERO 2007-10-14 03:35

I just Graham's interest on Exia won't turn into some sort of sick obsession with Setsuna :heh:

I notice that the Celestial Being has very powerful communication channel. When the Meisters are doing their missions, they always report status like "bombing the base now", and the Ptolemaios seems capable of receiving their report as they know if the mission is complete or into which phases...

Communicate from Earth to space? Just wow

Deathkillz 2007-10-14 04:42

Thankgod some background :heh: Now with the introductions over we get onto the main bit.
While most of this ep was just a fight like last one, this time i can actually appreciate it more. Setsuna is such a weird fellow that just screams heero clone! :heh:

duotiga 2007-10-14 04:42

Maybe rely thru via advanced Link 16 communication channel?:heh:

Graham is definitely obessed whese the pilot of Exia.....

As for the battles....i find the ship is kinda redundant.....is like an open target for the 4 Gundams

Japan is a US ally IRL, not surprised to see em as one in an anime.

Africa and the middle east doesnt seem to belong to any faction. I suppose they ll be the indepedent 4th player in their world politic?

pretty good warfare scene in sri-lanka.

pretty decent episode. currently celestial being makes me think of the US : "we will peace shit out of you"

i kinda hate every character calling out for 5~10 sec that their gundam is about to do something :/

so far i havent seen too many scene that can be reused as stockfootage beside the usual launching sequence so i still have hope to see some quality combats.

GundamDX26 2007-10-14 05:18

The more I watch Exia Gundam the more I feel that it should be called
Fullmetal Alchemist Gundam or Edward Elric Gundam LOL
I'm pretty sure Seiji Mizushima has some input into the design.

hamstar 2007-10-14 05:45

the animation quality in 00 is stellar.

I love gundam 00. It's amazing compared to the garbage that seed/destiny was.

I can't wait to see who the final boss is.

The main alliances were erected in order to protect (and share among their members) the solar towers' power; so, if Africa and the Middle East didn't congregate, then it simply means they don't have one of those orbital stations and consequently didn't feel the need to huddle up.

One of the space elevator/pillar is in Africa continent though. With the global dependency on solar energy, i m surprised non of the alliances did not take over africa.

That's akin to leaving your major oil pipeline open in another country.

WTF!!?! 400 years later and the LTTE and the army are still at it in Sri Lanka.........

And since when is gundam covering a real conflict. This is serious matter. You don't make animes on this.Especially with veiled allusion to India's support to the tamil.
This is annoying.

But the battle was cool so,I suppose that I will have to forgive them.

You can make movies covering a real conflict, so why not Gundam?

Especially since in this case, neither side was portrayed as good or bad. They are merely equally dead, thanks to Gundams.

I'd wager a guess that Africa is under AEUs thumb at least, considering that is where the AEU elevator is at.
Doesn't mean Africa is part of their union though. But seeing as how the AEU seem to have a few bases scattered around the elevator...

My guess for the next episode is that Graham is defeated, at least going by his "o_O" face in the preview.

Mgz 2007-10-14 06:38

1) grunt unit is terrible, slow and clumsy :( . I would take a zaku/windam over a grunt any day :/
2) uhm Sri Lanka, I wonder where is their next mision? Israel and Palestine (Yes they definitely still fighting 400 years from now), and then Kurds vs Turkey?
3) I voted 7/10 because the launching sequence is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too long and filler-ish
4) new Haro is annoying and souless... doesn't have a "personality" like pink-chan :p
5) didn't catch any reused screen so far :D so that is a good thing :D

cannon 2007-10-14 06:38

@blaat
Turkei and Spanien are geman not english or engrish. You know the japanese have a fable for german language.

Nice episode 2 with nice animations so far. Hope they wont recycle them that much like in Seed and Seed-Destiny.

Elevators are built on the equator, so yes if the AEU has an elevator than the african one is theirs.

@VCV:yeah, but gundam is a kid's show with super-robots.It's a problem of context.

Kids wouldnt know/care much about real life conflict reflected on their cartoon anyway XD

and adults should know when to differentiate entertainment and reality (generally hah!)
