Ranka really looks like Veffidas in the Fist of the North Star manga... I honestly think for the first 6 episodes of Macross 7 I was really torn as to whether she was a he or a she... Didn't she beat her lover to death in M7 Encore IIRC? Good thing she found the drums I suppose...

LOL, yeah Veffidas was buff to the point where it masks her gender:heh:

I remember also thinking she was just a crossdresser. Not sure about the detail of her former lover (I should really rewatch Macross 7) But yeah....at least drums are another form of stress-relief LOL. I just love how stoic she is. :heh:

This was a scene from Macross 7 Encore... the episode where they go into the background of the band on the 'Behind the Music' type TV special. I dunno... she was definitely a pugilist... :uhoh: definitely a cool character regardless. When she said sometihing... you *knew* it was important.

I've noticed something about Macross Frontier fan arts from Japan. Apparently, there are various terminologies:

For the Alto x Sheryl pairing, it is known as アルシェリ (AruSheri)
For the Klan x Michael pairing, it is known as ミハクラ (MihaKura)
Even Yaoi images would designate an Alto x Michael pairing as ミハアル

But, when there are artworks considering this one...

That second one is a pretty cool portrait sketch that looks like it is using PRISMACOLOR Art Stix. It's interesting how whoever did it didn't blend the colors together on the last strokes to give the impression of depth in the hair. Nice. Although it could also be something done on the PC as well. It's hard to tell these days.
