ANN: Right Stuf announced in a behind-the-scenes video on February 17 that Nozomi Entertainment will release the entire anime franchise based on Kōji Kumeta's Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei manga, including all three television anime seasons and both original video anime (OVA) works.

The particular thing here is the bizarre reason for the delay since their 2019 announcement:-
Nozomi Entertainment producer Judy explained in the video that Nozomi "ran into trouble right off the bat" since no more scripts for the series exist in Japan (Judy explained the scripts were lost). As a result, the translator had to translate the entire anime by ear.

Great news, this was the first anime I got into in a big way as an adult thanks to TV Tropes, & had long given up on this getting a licenced release.

I've heard the amount of Japanese pop culture references makes translation hard, the manga had to have a few pages of notes in each volume to explain them all.
