There will be no new Tales episode on Jan ~5th due to holiday end of the year broadcast scheduling. If Tokyo MX's scheduling is really not delayed by [x] weeks, then when it resumes the next week, 3 stations (Tokyo MX, MBS, and CBC) will all be up to date with episode 15.

I am digging this series as a whole and have been for a while now. I stopped at episode #9 to focus on a few other series I was watching but now that I am all caught up with them I can re-watch episodes 1-9 and continue onward to get myself current, so I am excited to say the least.

So far my favorite character would have to be Luke, I like his personality and how he changed from bratty to become somewhat of a leader (at least around episode 10 anyhow) and I love Tear as well, she's a grea female lead. I hope this series gets dubbed and finds itsway to a U.S release sometime soon as I would really love to add it to my collection.

This was a great series, I really got into the storyline of Luke being a clone and some of the characters such as Guy, Tear and Ash are going to stick with me for quite some time. It's a shame that it's over, but I suppose I would rather have it end with 26 episodes than to have the creators drag out the series and have it become stale over time due to poor storytelling. I hope this comes out in the United States at some point, I would love to own it and show it to friends of mine who may like it who refuse to stream.

Well the anime adaptions for the games are pretty much a hit or miss depending on the fan. I thought the adaption for this series was done fairly well given the episodes.

As far as I can recall, this anime has yet to be licenced here in the states. I do not know of any UK licences.

NoLongerSane 2010-07-22 21:52

Just read the report from ANN. It looks like Tales of the Abyss has been licenced by Bandai Ent.

Shiranui 2010-07-27 12:48

Yep, Tales of the Abyss along with.. a Gundam series (I think)... has been licenced to come to America! Finally! But what I wonder is if they're going to have the original cast from the game (or the majority of it) come back--or better yet if there's even going to be a dub.
Not all linceced anime, movies, etc. are actually dubbed before being sold in a certain country afterall

NoLongerSane 2010-07-31 14:57

Well, if they manage to get the majority of the original english cast to do their parts from the game, that will be great. But if not, as long as they use decent voice actors I do not mind. In all honesty, I would purchase this series even if it's subbed.

Agreed I'd still purchase it as long as its stubbed but how long it'll be till that is I'm unsure =/

Just posting a quick question, but has anyone bought the DVD that was suppose to have been released yesterday? I went to two stores that stated that the release date for the DVD was set for August 9.

In doing a quick search, it doesn't look like many of the online merchants have stock at the moment either, so I'm guessing there must be some sort of supply issue.

Edit: One week later, the news is out that it got delayed to 11 October. That's quite a delay!

Roloko vi Britannia 2011-08-09 00:11

Its subbed only so no buy for me since I hate overpriced subbed DVDs or subbed series on DVD in general (unless I really loved the series to own no matter what) so I could care less about the delay. >_>

Just posting a quick question for the release of the limited edition. The LE is suppose to come with the Asch the Bloody manga but the manga itself is set to be released later this month. Will the LE come with a special cover or will it be with the regular manga itself?

It will be the same as the manga they are releasing so if your planning to get the ToA anime LE part 1 then its best if you wait.

NoLongerSane 2011-09-30 12:06

Just recieved my Tales of the Abyss limited NA release today. It comes with the Asche the Bloody mange Vol.1 as the Bandai site stated. I enjoyed watching the episodes. Hoping that there is a release with a dub but I take what I can.

AbZeroNow 2013-08-10 18:03

Funimation got it as part of a larger list of Sunrise shows that Bandai Entertainment had.

Looks like Tales of the Abyss is getting a dub (obviously would have to wait for official word that it will get a dub).
