I love Kalafine, since she's the one that did Sora no Woto ED.

Do we know when the singles for the full OP/ED are coming out?

Sadly no info as of yet from where I occasionally look. But if anyone else found out yet, please tell :)

The OST during the fight scene with the witch in episode 2 is just tempting me to find it. But dint it play also during the first episode at the very beginning as well?

Uh, Magia will be out next month, on the 16th. The normal and limited versions will come with 3 songs, Magia, snow falling (KnK epilogue's theme) and instrumental version. The anime version will come with 4 songs, Magia, TV size, a remix and instrumental version.

If you noticed, the Magia played in Episode 2 is in fact faster paced than Episode 1's Magia.

I wonder if that will be included somehow or will the slower episode 1 version simply be forgotten

So it wasn't just me! I thought I was going crazy because it sounded like Magia in Ep1 was slowed down.

I guess now that the ED is officially the faster paced version, the slower one will be forgotten and left forever :(

^ It was already stated somewhere that they changed the song in order to fit the scene. But we can always edit the song and make it slower (I did it already lol).

Hrm, Magia sounds better punctuated with flintlock action. I shall have to relish episode 2 for what it gives.

The OST is the best for this season. IMO Yuki Kajiura never disappoints!

OP/ED are also really great especially the ED.

Hope is not lost! When it comes to Yuki Kajiura, no track is left unpublished.

I remember a whole bunch of different versions of this one song from My-Otome that all ended up getting released. Except... there was more than just an OST. There were multiple OSTs, actually. :uhoh:

Either way, I'm sure we'll have that version of the song again in one form another, even if it isn't the actual ED, it's unique enough from it to at least have something in the OST itself.

kalafina's magia as the ED is pretty much better than the OP imho. XD with all those matchingly creepy lyrics, i would never look at madoka as a heart-warming tale of magical girls again. btw, anybody thought how the ED foreshadows something terrible and evil?

I feel like the only person who likes the OP more than the ED...

Hmm, it's hard to say for me. I really like the OP, but the ED has a really good atmosphere to it.

I can't really pick one, both are great.

i agree that the atmosphere that the ED has lures a lot into liking the song.

I'm going to join the bandwagon here, the ending sets up this atmosphere that gets me to like alot, but the opening is great (especially from ClariS) so really hard for me to choose.

Ok, now tell that to everyone in the canta-per-me website that still waits for unreleased tracks from Madlax, Tsubasa and even Xenosaga ~ A Missing Year.

About the ed X op discussion, although I did like the op surprisingly enough, I love the ending, being the Kalafina fag I am.

I only like the OP more because the ED animation freaks me out. >.<

Doesn't take away the fact that Magia is a pretty good song, especially when coupled with battle scenes.

I like the ED better. The atmosphere it brings is just amazing, and I feel that it signifies a gradual descent into darkness that contrasts with the happy feeling of the opening.

I just pre-ordered the ED, can't wait untill 2/16! It's definately in my top 5, not only is the song outstanding, but I never get tired of the video, it's so compelling and creative.

Question: When is the single for the OP scheduled for release?

If in the future episodes they completely removes the OP, or even move Magia to the beginning of the episode

Alternatively, do a haunting remix of the OP (maybe by Kajiura?) instead of the normal version. Just a subtle difference can change a lot in term of the tone

Personally I also like the ED more. I just like slow gothic music more than fast paced ones.

Wow. Just wow. I love ClariS for making irony, but I love this 100x more! It's totally suits everything. Hope in despair. Even if I don't trully understand the lyrics, I can really feel the song unlike any other. One of the best OP songs this season. REALLY!

I just noticed something interesting. The very beginning part of Magia ("yeee-hee-hee-heee hee-hee") sounds exactly like a certain part of a track from Mai-HiME OST 2, as far as melody is concerned. It's track #29 ("Shinkou ni Shimaru Yoru no Yume") at 0:53.

Can anyone confirm that it's not just my imagination?

As for why i'm listening to Mai-HiME OST, it's because i'm pretending it's Madoka Magica OST. :cool:

The two parts you mentioned are pretty short and you only have so many notes available, so it's nothing special that they sound a bit similar.
It's not the same melody though and they're not even the same notes/in the same key. :D

And Kajiura is obviously not known for great variation in her soundtracks, so you're bound to find some similarities. ;)
But she's still really great! I love what she does with the three chords g,F and E♭ in Eri's song. :)
