They sure dropped a lot of bombs. Definitely worth making a big deal about this event.
I guess it was a kind of a "well we can show our wave of awesome movies as well." Some big stuff coming up that's for sure. 2016 - Cap 3 and Doctor Strange, 2017 - Guardians 2, Thor 3, Black Panther. 2018 - Captain Marvel, Avengers, Inhumans. 2019 - More Avengers :D. |
"We will meet Black Panther in full costume in Cap 3. He's a big player in Civil War."
Yesss. |

That Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet pic... I'm sorry, I think I need a second to compose myself . And that Black Panther suit :D: http://i.newsarama.com/images/i/000/...jpg?1414521635 |
Man, Black Panther looks awesome. :D
I'm most excited for Thor: Ragnarok as a fan. Don't forget new AoU stuff with tonight's AoS! |

Glad that the fans of Black Panther and Captain Marvel will finally get to see those heroes in movie form. I'm mostly excited for Captain Marvel. Mostly since when the X-Men movies came out I was hyped to see the Rogue I remembered from the animated series, but instead they had to go with de-powered Rogue. Now we've got a main female hero who can do this awesome stuff. Hope they can pull that off nicely. I like both the DC and Marvel heroes so I'm hyped if both can just keep these movies constantly streaming out. Really glad they'll have some flexibility to work with for the Infinity Gauntlet films and yeah that Black Panther pic was pretty nice as well. |
DC who?
This is epic. |
Now that's a schedule.
|
You had me at Captain Marvel (though I'm going to miss the Ms. :)...then again, this could be the alien dude and not Carol Danvers/Kamala Khan, in which case f*ck you Marvel :frustrated:).
Still, no Black Widow movie, which is kind of a slap-in-the-face for Scarlett Johansson. Damn that is a tight schedule. I wonder what the specific rationale for having so many films a year is (beyond competing with DC's schedules?). Spoiler for spoiler for civil war events:

Now that is an awesome schedule. It's great that heroes like Black Panther and Captain Marvel will finally get their chance on the big screen. I'm also excited we are actually getting a Ragnarok and Inhumans movie. It's also nice that they are splitting the Infinity war movie into two parts.
That black Panther suit looks epic:D And seeing Thanos with the infinity gauntlet like that:bow::bow::bow: |

The Infinity War camrip Teaser: http://a.pomf.se/dewadn.webm

Loki's staff confirmed for Infinity Gem.

I thought the staff appearing in the teaser was because it was made with the Cube's energy. |
Speculation was going for a while that the spear was the mind gem, so makes sense. That doesn't leave many infinity gems left for them to have to introduce now.

And when Feige announced Captain Marvel, the synopsis very much sounded like an origin story. Saying while she's earth based, she's very much cosmic. |

The only disappointment in that release list is no Hulk movie for Mark Ruffalo. :(
It would have been nice to have movies for Johansen and Renner too, but they were really always depicted as sub-characters. :( |
Regarding Black Widow from the Q&A:
With Scarlett Johansson being one of the biggest movie stars on the planet, why did you decide not to give Black Widow her own movie? Well, frankly, as I said in the presentation, it’s about bringing new characters to the screen. Black Widow couldn’t be more important as an Avenger, herself. Like Hulk, the Avengers films will be the films where they play a primary role. Her part in Avengers: Age of Ultron is very very big, and further develops and further enhances her character. The plans that we have for her throughout the rest of the Avengers saga is very very big, and lynchpin, in fact, to those films. So instead of taking her out there, or instead of doing a prequel, which we haven’t done yet, continuing the forward momentum and the continuity of the cinematic universe. Of which Widow is a key, key part. Rest of it: http://www.slashfilm.com/marvel-phase-3-kevin-feige/ |
They should have had RDJ be Black Panther.
http://media.giphy.com/media/DRDtvcJyHx9WE/giphy.gif ;) About Black Widow and not getting her own movie, I'm sure she will have decent screen time in Avengers 2 and Avengers 3 pt. I and pt. II. She also was a main character in Captain America 2 and will probably be a main character in Captain America 3. Something tells me she will side with Captain America. |
Black Widow "movie" details were apparently written into The Winter Soldier, too. So I don't think it'll happen.
|
Hawkeye was also supposed to be in Winter Soldier but got cut so I think Clint, Natasha, and Bruce/Hulk are unfortunately going to be relegated to a sort of supporting cast structure for a while. I think Jeremy Renner's contract specifically says he can do only a few more movies and a possible Hawkeye solo film...
I mean, it would be awesome to finally get another Hulk movie and finally check up on Banner's supporting cast again as well as see more Hulk characters and villains, but after the last two movies lack of success at the box office, Marvel isn't very big on doing one right now. He'll probably have a big presence in Civil War, if only because it'll be a big deal which side Hulk ultimately sides on :uhoh:. |

So, this is possibly a big spoiler, so...
Spoiler for About Captain America 3:
|
If I remember correctly, Chris Evans has 2 movies left in his contract with 1 to go after Civil War is done? so unlikely.

Especially since the second arc they were rumored to be adapting alongside Civil War was "Fallen Son". And the Civil War rumor came true, so... |
Think it'll be Falcon. Almost certain..
http://collider.com/chris-evans-marvel-contract/ Other thing they can do is do "that" but some how bring him back a comic book way for the Infinity War. |
Yeah, still not sure how I feel about Civil War being brought in to the playing field. They can't really make use of mutants and they're not going to kill Cap...I'm certain of that.

This is sick. I wasn't holding out any hope for a Black Panther movie. And that line-up. I need a moment. |
