Get hyped:
Mysterious Marvel Studios event/presentation to take place in LA Tuesday 28th October
Quote:

Marvel Studios is taking a page from Silicon Valley, and issued a surprise, and mysterious, invitation for Tuesday, October 28. The invitations, extended to Newsarama and other sites that cover comic book movies, says nothing other than the date, the morning time, and the location of the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. The invitation certainly brings to mind what Apple has done when announcing a major product in the past. It does specify the event is a Marvel Studios one, not Marvel Comics.

Alongside new AoU stuff coming with SHIELD later that day.

Well I'll give them credit for creating some interesting mystery. Maybe after the trailer leaking business they just want to go super secret with their next announcement :).

With that level of secrecy though you could speculate just about anything.

They sure dropped a lot of bombs. Definitely worth making a big deal about this event.

I guess it was a kind of a "well we can show our wave of awesome movies as well."

Some big stuff coming up that's for sure. 2016 - Cap 3 and Doctor Strange, 2017 - Guardians 2, Thor 3, Black Panther. 2018 - Captain Marvel, Avengers, Inhumans. 2019 - More Avengers :D.

ACertainStark 2014-10-28 13:50

"We will meet Black Panther in full costume in Cap 3. He's a big player in Civil War."

Yesss.

Yeah pretty much, especially with Black Panther and Captain Marvel in the roster for the movies. DC may have beat them in terms of a female-lead Superhero movie with Wonder Woman, but compared to the Cyborg announcement, Black Panther pretty much wins it for Marvel in terms of racial diversity :heh:.

That Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet pic... I'm sorry, I think I need a second to compose myself .

And that Black Panther suit :D:

Man, Black Panther looks awesome. :D

I'm most excited for Thor: Ragnarok as a fan.

Don't forget new AoU stuff with tonight's AoS!

Yeah, so much of this announcement has me excited. After Guardians I can believe that Marvel can make just about anything work out.

Glad that the fans of Black Panther and Captain Marvel will finally get to see those heroes in movie form. I'm mostly excited for Captain Marvel. Mostly since when the X-Men movies came out I was hyped to see the Rogue I remembered from the animated series, but instead they had to go with de-powered Rogue. Now we've got a main female hero who can do this awesome stuff. Hope they can pull that off nicely.

I like both the DC and Marvel heroes so I'm hyped if both can just keep these movies constantly streaming out.

Really glad they'll have some flexibility to work with for the Infinity Gauntlet films and yeah that Black Panther pic was pretty nice as well.

Galaxian 2014-10-28 15:00

DC who?

This is epic.

GDB 2014-10-28 15:11

Now that's a schedule.

james0246 2014-10-28 15:13

You had me at Captain Marvel (though I'm going to miss the Ms. :)...then again, this could be the alien dude and not Carol Danvers/Kamala Khan, in which case f*ck you Marvel :frustrated:).

Still, no Black Widow movie, which is kind of a slap-in-the-face for Scarlett Johansson.

Damn that is a tight schedule. I wonder what the specific rationale for having so many films a year is (beyond competing with DC's schedules?).
Spoiler for spoiler for civil war events:

Feige confirmed it is Carol Danvers. :)

Wandering Soul 2014-10-28 17:18

Now that is an awesome schedule. It's great that heroes like Black Panther and Captain Marvel will finally get their chance on the big screen. I'm also excited we are actually getting a Ragnarok and Inhumans movie. It's also nice that they are splitting the Infinity war movie into two parts.

That black Panther suit looks epic:D

And seeing Thanos with the infinity gauntlet like that:bow::bow::bow:

It makes sense to drop the "Ms". If she is going to be the one and only superhero called Marvel in the fimverse, there is no point having a female prefix.

Really? That's disappointing...

I thought the staff appearing in the teaser was because it was made with the Cube's energy.

FlareKnight 2014-10-28 18:51

Speculation was going for a while that the spear was the mind gem, so makes sense. That doesn't leave many infinity gems left for them to have to introduce now.

I do hope that, if the movie at all deals with Carol's origins, that Mar-Vell shows up in some capacity at least. At this point, I have to wonder if it's more likely for him to show up than the classic Ms. Marvel costume :p.

With Loki's staff pretty much confirmed to be the Mind Stone, and the Aether likely Reality, that just leaves Time and Soul (likely with Adam Warlock). I'd say it's likely the latter, and Adam, might show up in Guardians 2.

Warlock was teased in TDW and GoTG, right?

And when Feige announced Captain Marvel, the synopsis very much sounded like an origin story. Saying while she's earth based, she's very much cosmic.

His cocoon was in the Collector's collection, and was shown open in the Guardians after-credits scene :).

Shinji103 2014-10-28 20:47

The only disappointment in that release list is no Hulk movie for Mark Ruffalo. :(

It would have been nice to have movies for Johansen and Renner too, but they were really always depicted as sub-characters. :(

ACertainStark 2014-10-28 21:22

Regarding Black Widow from the Q&A:
With Scarlett Johansson being one of the biggest movie stars on the planet, why did you decide not to give Black Widow her own movie?

Well, frankly, as I said in the presentation, it’s about bringing new characters to the screen. Black Widow couldn’t be more important as an Avenger, herself. Like Hulk, the Avengers films will be the films where they play a primary role. Her part in Avengers: Age of Ultron is very very big, and further develops and further enhances her character. The plans that we have for her throughout the rest of the Avengers saga is very very big, and lynchpin, in fact, to those films. So instead of taking her out there, or instead of doing a prequel, which we haven’t done yet, continuing the forward momentum and the continuity of the cinematic universe. Of which Widow is a key, key part.

Rest of it:

Urzu 7 2014-10-29 00:06

They should have had RDJ be Black Panther.

;)

About Black Widow and not getting her own movie, I'm sure she will have decent screen time in Avengers 2 and Avengers 3 pt. I and pt. II. She also was a main character in Captain America 2 and will probably be a main character in Captain America 3. Something tells me she will side with Captain America.

ACertainStark 2014-10-29 00:19

Black Widow "movie" details were apparently written into The Winter Soldier, too. So I don't think it'll happen.

Frontier 2014-10-29 00:47

Hawkeye was also supposed to be in Winter Soldier but got cut so I think Clint, Natasha, and Bruce/Hulk are unfortunately going to be relegated to a sort of supporting cast structure for a while. I think Jeremy Renner's contract specifically says he can do only a few more movies and a possible Hawkeye solo film...

I mean, it would be awesome to finally get another Hulk movie and finally check up on Banner's supporting cast again as well as see more Hulk characters and villains, but after the last two movies lack of success at the box office, Marvel isn't very big on doing one right now. He'll probably have a big presence in Civil War, if only because it'll be a big deal which side Hulk ultimately sides on :uhoh:.

ACertainStark 2014-10-29 00:49

Regarding Hulk, Feige said:
Quote:

Well, I wouldn’t say he’s absent from the timeline, I’d say Hulk is going to appear in many of those movies, particularly all those Avengers movies leading up to 2019 and Infinity War. Mark Ruffalo is on board for all those films, and we’re excited to bring him to those films. What happens with a standalone Hulk film? I’ll only say what I would have said about Black Panther last week or Captain Marvel the week before that, or Doctor Strange the week before that, or Guardians of the Galaxy two years ago, or Ant-Man ten years ago: we’ll see. We’d love to do it, we’d love to find the place to put it, but right now, Hulk will be appearing, with his friends, in their films.
So anything before Infinity War is out of the question.

Urzu 7 2014-10-30 00:09

So, this is possibly a big spoiler, so...
Spoiler for About Captain America 3:

ACertainStark 2014-10-30 00:12

If I remember correctly, Chris Evans has 2 movies left in his contract with 1 to go after Civil War is done? so unlikely.

Probably. It's the central plot behind Civil War storyline, it'd be pointless if they didn't.

If the poster you saw was from the 9gag one, It was just a shopped image of The First Avenger and Iron Man 2's poster put together

Spoiler for About Captain America 3:

That's what 95% of comic readers believe will happen. The other 5% think it'll be Falcon.

Especially since the second arc they were rumored to be adapting alongside Civil War was "Fallen Son". And the Civil War rumor came true, so...

ACertainStark 2014-10-30 10:19

Think it'll be Falcon. Almost certain..

http://collider.com/chris-evans-marvel-contract/

Other thing they can do is do "that" but some how bring him back a comic book way for the Infinity War.

Mr. DJ 2014-11-01 11:10

Yeah, still not sure how I feel about Civil War being brought in to the playing field. They can't really make use of mutants and they're not going to kill Cap...I'm certain of that.

I sure hope any presence of Loki and Heimdall is extremely limited. I think there is enough going on in Age of Ultron as it is. I know that Loki has been the only real Marvel villain that has stood out, but he doesn't really need to keep showing up outside of the Thor movies. Hopefully just a small cameo that shows Thor heading off to Earth.
