SSA does the trick...
there's a "Karaoke Mode" option under the "Timing" menu... |
thanks.. but umm do you know where i could download it cuz i cant find it anywhere.

SSa is a bit hard to find, cause the official site is no longer and the 1st/2nd page of hits only link to mirrors that are down. Use http://www.filemirrors.com to track the file down, you can find it with the search term "ssa" there.

If you want to be walked through step by step for karaoke timing, I've made a guide here. :)
|
didn't an encoder post a line of code that you can put in the source code so it'll do that?
|
That's a really cool guide.
|
Thanks. :) I've been trying out flash for tutorials lately because you can have pictures and text in one single .swf file (great for TDCCing). Theoretically, .doc works too, but that's blocked on some IRC servers, and doesn't have some interactiveness that flash provides.
|
Yeah, that's a nice turorial for basic karaoke (I wish I had that earlier this year, haha).
I avoid karaoke mode like a plauge of Windows ME boxs though. It seems to be harder to get your timing perfect in karaoke mode, than it is to just time it manually. I seem to see a lot of karaoke in fansubs that looks like my attempts from when I was using karaoke mode for about 5 minutes too. But hey, whatever works for you... Simple karaoke is well... simple anyway. It's when I started learning about the other vobsub effects is when I stoped bothering with it - too complicated 0_o |
thanksvery much guys big help, and great guide there
|
uhm, and how can we put effects on it? for example the text is fading, getting bigger (or my favorites in naruto ep 78 or later by anbu-aone)
and how can we make the karaoke text vertical? |

As for vertical text along the sides, using the {\frz(degree)} will usually acomplish the desired effect. |
Hmm... that looks interesting. Might have have the link to the full guide? It wouldn't suprise me if it had a few things I didn't know...

http://www.evabeast.com/flf/wbboard/...id=10&page=1#1 <- thats one I wrote on doing multipul moves within the same line of code and heres an ftp that will only be up for the next 20 min with a few ssa/ass/textsub docs and a how to do linked karaoke fx demo vid. ip/port - 67.8.158.71:21 login/pass - kara/info If the ftp isn't working correct for any reason just post here or pm me. BTW nothing on the ftp is licensed, or illegal in anyway ^^ |
FTP seems to be down now...
Can I grab them off you on Irc? I'll just drop along FLF's room later if that's cool ^_^ |
ok, sounds good to me. Just pm me when you drop in cause I maybe doing something.

videoplayer cannot show it correctly by itself...
you have to encode it first... and of course VDub's preview screen will show it before encoding... |

help with karaoke
hi minna~
I need some help with the transformation command. [<t1>,<t2>,] I know that t1 is the start time and t2 length of time. What i find confusing is how you find these numbers. Say you have {\k18} as your first karaoke thingy, so it's \t(180, __ ) right? ^^; I'm not really sure how to find t2 after using it a second time. @_@ Can someone also explain the diff in centiseconds (ssa) and milliseconds (sfx). In terms of how diff it is in numbers... thnx :D |
\k18 converts into \t(0000,0180,1,\effect)
t1 is the starting time. You want t1 to start at 0 seconds. However, for the next karaoke syllable, you want t1 to start at the previous syllable's t2 For example: Changing {\K18}Ke{\K18}ro{\K18}ro into some cheesy effect like... {\shad0\t(0,180,1,\shad10)}Ke{\shad0\t(180,360,1,\ shad10)}ro{\shad0\t(360,540,1,\shad10)}ro |
Bah... Beaten to it.
... Isn't the first time value the start time, the seond value the end time and the third value the acceleration? So why to you have all the transforms starting at the same time? The difference between centiseconds (SSA) and milliseconds (SFX/VDub) is the degree of precision in timing. It's sounds corny but centiseconds/hundredth's of a second are accurate to two decimal places while milliseconds/thousandth's of a second are accurate to three. It's 0.99 versus 0.999. |
Oh, and make sure the starting and ending times of multiple \t() sequences don't overlap. That is, don't do \t(0,1000,\blah)\t(1000,2000,\blah)
|
Yeah, I got the acceleration in the wrong place...
|
Ah... I though it was some kind of special trick. -.-;
/me admittedly doesn't use the transform function that often. |
thnx guys~ ^___^ I think i get it now, but i'm still unsure about getting t2
Are there any helpful tips to get it? Like depending on the "k", something in vdub/ssa that can help to get the value? Or you sorta have to play around to figure it out XD; |
There are quite a few timing styles of effects. Playing around would be best to see which timing styles are suitable for which types of songs. Using the start time and end time of each syllable inside a \t is probably the first way to approach this. From your example, t1 would actually be 0, and t2 is actually 180, if you're still confused.

Hello
Can anyone write the code that allow the translator to Karaoke from right to left. |
Quote:
See this: Code:
Dialogue: Marked=0,0:00:00.00,0:03:00.00,*Default,,0000,0000,0000,,{\alpha&HC0&\t(0,240,1,\alpha&H00&)\t(240,480,1,\alpha&HC0&)}Ko You simply need to switch the timings around; there is more to it than that, but it should give you the basic idea. |
Thank you Mr_Paper for the info, it was helpful.
But can you write the other tricks for the same matter, cause still some problems with text after doing the karaoke operation words gets corrupted. |
How is the text getting corrupted?
|
i think she means by "right to left" that she writes in arabic language...i don't blame her for the corruption in the words order .
|
I used the code :
Dialogue: Marked=0,0:00:00.00,0:03:00.00,*Default,,0000,0000 ,0000,,{\alpha&HC0&\t(960,1200,1,\alpha&H00&)\t(12 00,1440,1,\alpha&HC0&)}Ko {\alpha&HC0&\t(480,720,1,\alpha&H00&)\t(720,960,1, \alpha&HC0&)}ko{\alpha&HC0&\t(0,240,1,\alpha&H00&) \t(240,480,1,\alpha&HC0&)}ro and it worked as you said, but whenever the word finish the EFFECT (as in your example alpha), it moves to the end of line,i tried evrything that i know but nothing solved. i know there is no solution for this problem, but maybe someone have an idea how to solve it. |
After some experimenting I managed to duplicate the problem, but I can't seem to figure out a way to correct it within one line. As a result I came up with this, it's not pretty (especially since every syllable becomes a new line and has to be positioned manually) but it seems to work:
Code:
Dialogue: Marked=0,0:00:00.00,0:03:00.00,*Default,right-first,0000,0000,0000,,{\pos(875,740)\alpha&HC0&\t(0,240,1,\alpha&H00&)\t(240,480,1,\alpha&HC0&)} النصيحة الذهبية في It's not the prettiest solution to the problem, but for the moment it's the only one I can come up with. |
