It's coming Spring 2020. https://twitter.com/shirobako_anime/...65637757390848 |
Damn, I hoped for this Fall. But at least we have approximate date now.
|
Are they going to make a war themed anime or is the production team going to get hit by an unprecedented production disaster? :heh:
|
That's a weird poster :heh:
Spring 2020 means us common mortals won't see it until 2021. |
|
ahhh what a tease!
|
Comes out on February 29th :heh:

Just saw this on the MAL list for shows this spring. It led me to this little item presenting the real-life people personified in the series.

I just rewatched the entire series over the past day or so. What an entertaining and humane show this is. I was just feeling sad that there wasn't any more Shirobako to watch, then I'm reminded there's this movie in a few weeks. So glad P.A. Works didn't abandon this wonderful property after the series ended.

Some major character missing from the trailer. Well, it's just a trailer and they're in the poster, but it's obvious a single movie won't be able to focus on all of them, especially since there are new characters to be introduced too.

Needs more fried chicken and talking dolls if you ask me!

I enjoyed the series can't wait for the film

Loved the chibi recap.

While we wait for the BDs, here's some artwork :)

Thanks for the update. It's complete hogwash that the gap between theatrical releases and BDs are approaching 12 months, but at least we've got a date.
|
Finally had a chance to watch this one, absolutely enjoyed it! The story was fun (if a little familiar), and the animation was top-tier, showing what P.A. Works can do with the silver screen.
|
I'm still enraged of not being able to watch it either legally or not because noone shows it here and noone ripped the english subs either.
|
|
I hope folks enjoy it :) For once, I get to feel smug about having seen something ahead of the die-hard fans!
|
So many negative comments on MAL...
I personally really liked the movie. Staff deliberatelly made some scenes even more over the top than in TV-series but it was enjoyable. To bad we won't see more of this most probably. |
MAL's never been a reliable source for reviews, though: people will post just for helpful upvotes. All that matter is whether or not you enjoyed it :)
|
So Fathom Events will be showing this movie in US theaters, but you'd better reserveAugust 10th on your calendar. That's the one and only day the film will be shown.

Sad to see this movie get so few comments/reviews here. I mean, I know anime movies can be easy to forget sometimes for those of us who don't live in Japan, but still... the Shirobako TV series got a lot of love and attention a few years ago, so it's weird to see it's movie not even get to Page 3 of this thread yet.
Anyway, I liked the movie! I finally got around to watching it this evening. I thought it did a pretty impressive job of moving things forward in a believable and challenging, yet also hopeful, way. The movie had some good funny moments, and it did an amazing job of balancing a massive cast really. It was a breezy watch, which is a good accomplishment for a 2 hour-long movie. I definitely recommend it to anybody who enjoyed the TV series. I might go into more detail later on. |
