Finally finished the film, Shā Wú Shēng's backstory is actually pretty sad, he just wanted to walk on a proper path but got tricked into another. And the Shāng Bù Huàn's part is fun to watch, especially the finale part.

Quite surprised no one link this yet considering it's airing soon.

What an opening. Yin Shi as useless as ever.

erneiz_hyde 2018-10-01 23:20

Hooo boy, ending with the appearance of Gale really makes you hyped up!

The Hu Yin Shi's job is literally just stay in one spot to guard a sacred weapon. Naturally their skills would be worse than those spending their lives outside. So yes their role in story is to be useless.

Not necessarily have to be that way since hermits have also been portrayed as people with godlike skills in stories like these. But well, I guess this is just the Piccolo phenomenon :heh:

^Unfortunately they're far from hermits, just normal human entrusted with duties they're born with. :heh:

They had one job in one place. You'd think they'd have gotten good at it, but my complaint is that they've grown complacent. Overestimating themselves and underestimating the people who'd want the magic sword. Not only did they not heed Shang's advice, they even had the gall to say they couldn't trust him with it. I daresay Shang's proven his competence in his single life than the this clan in it's entire history.

Anyway, if the opening is anything to go by this isn't the last we'll see of them.

They prob were strong to physical attacks and weren't expecting "special" scorpions and sorcery. If Shang hadn't returned, the fort would have fallen. :heh:

I bet they're not even good at that if Dan Fei was any example. Holing themselves up for decades caused their techniques to become outdated and not know what real skill looks like.

Master_Yoma 2018-10-02 21:17

Its back and Shang Bu Huan really let down his guard leaving the scroll of swords with such weak people

HandofFate 2018-10-02 23:45

glad the guitar guy is on Shang's side, he seems neat.

SeijiSensei 2018-10-05 10:32

Shang cut the scroll horizontally, I believe, leaving both of them with a fraction of the swords. Had he cut it in half when rolled up, perhaps some of the swords would have been destroyed? Probably not the cursed ones, though.

XFire 2018-10-07 11:58

Off to a good start. Presumably the cursed sword featured prominently in the opening is one of the ones the Princess girl got her hands on.
