http://i.imgur.com/Cvjou41.jpg?1
Update: Zaregoto anime confirmed on official site:

Plot Summary:
Quote:

The story revolves around protagonist "I" and the murders and mysteries he encounters. He tries in vain to stay out of the story, but instead he always gets dragged into the center of everything. Even though it seems that he contributes a lot, he always finds out that whatever he did was meaningless in the end.
Studio not confirmed yet but likely Shaft.

No way. Since each Nisio Isin's series is animated by a different studio, I'm predicting A-1 will be in charge of this.

Nachtwandler 2016-05-01 06:39

Nah. Info somthere on the site says Shaft and Aniplex

bakato 2016-05-01 09:15

Will we see any characters from Zaregoto?

Kamieichi 2016-05-01 09:41

Aikawa Jun, the protagonist of Saikyou Series is originally the character from Zaregoto. I've never read Saikyou Series so I don't know whether other Zaregoto characters will appear.

I already said this in novel thread, but I wanted to see Zaregoto anime first.

Zaregoto!!!!!... spinoff animated

Ah f it, take what we can get, Aikawa Jun http://www.thecoli.com/styles/defaul...es/rejoice.png

Where you @ Kunagisa? (the poster)

Kismet-chan 2016-05-02 02:35

I'd much rather prefer it if Zaregoto was getting animated, but I suppose this will do, depending on the studio.

In the novel thread! For all we know this could end up being a LA adaptation instead (yeah ... no)!

Anyway, if Zaregoto is Gundam, then Saikyou is Super Robot Wars. I like both, but the power level and theme of the story ("mystery with an eclectic group of psychos and weirdos" versus "The Incredible and WTF Adventure of Jun-san") are just too different.

Fans of Zaregoto should adjust their expectations ... maybe.

How is not Zaregoto already not Super Robot Wars?
Suer powers are already all over the place by the last couple of volumes.

Because Time Travel, "Dragon", Alien, and Mermaid.

I foudn that to be more of a evolution from the original Getter 1 to Getter Emeperor instead of Real Robot to Super Robots...
The genre was super enough to begin with. Just the level of farfecthedness has changed.

Sure the last few volumes went (!) for Zaregoto, but I wouldn't say that defines the series as a whole with that genre. I also had Psycho-magic from Unicorn in mind when I used the Gundam as a reference point.

Either way, as fun as this discussion is, I hope my original post's intention has not gotten lost by this slight sidetrack (then again, I did say "maybe" in the original post to separate between the people who has read some volumes and for people who read all of Zaregoto).

EDIT:

Ohoo

I dont want to jump the gun but if this is a mega hit like monogatari i dont see why not. they can easily call it a prequel and go with that.

monogatari is losing steam and its coming at its end, in fact the main story line ended. so for nisio and shaft this would be great.

but hey who knows this could easily be a shitty adaption and flop in sales, i just pray for the best.

IceHism 2016-05-03 17:42

so close to a zaregoto adaption

I just personally care more about Zaregoto. That's all. *shrug*

Stark700 2016-05-05 10:02

Oh wow, it's actually Zaregoto anime! (announced on official site now)

moodie 2016-05-05 10:21

Something inside me knew it. It would be odd adapting an entire spin off first.

Kamieichi 2016-05-05 10:22

Well, I'm glad now. I totally believed it would be Saikyou anime.

bakato 2016-05-05 10:56

Is this series as depressing and nihilistic as the art and synopsis make it sound?
