Hmm, whoever called the Cathedral Gundam being P-Bandai, good call.
Personally hyped for AMAZING RED WARRIOR! That aside, looking forward to seeing what Hyaku Shiki variation they're gonna bring for MG or P-Bandai MG. |

Aaaaaaaaaand HGAW Double X ordered. Now to wait for it to arrive, haha. Should be a good 15 days or so, considering how blazing fast (not really) BR customs can be.
Kinda excited to build it, because it'll be a new experience. Had the RG Freedom as my first ever gunpla, then moved to RG Justice, and that was a really similar build, so having my first HG should probably shake things up a bit. Thought it was weird, though, how on HLJ's website they had the DX as a Skill Lv.3 kit, whereas Freedom and Justice are 2. Is it harder to put together, somehow? haha. Also, might try my hand at painting for the first time. At least detail painting. The red jewel, the little reflectors or w/e on the arms/legs and MAYBE the wings, although I'm a bit worried that it might not get the same cool reflection that the gold from the stickers can get. Any tips on how to do that or so? lol. Oh, and one last thing: noticed the V-Fin has those little 'rounded' edges. Is there an easy way to 'remove' those? From the videos I saw they look kinda ugly, so I'd definitely like to try my hand in having those look better. |

For painting, I think it depends on what paints you got available and how you paint. For gold, imo spray painting/airbrushing is the way to go unless its small parts. Usually either gold with clear orange over it, or silver with clear yellow depending on the exact gold type you want As for the V-Fin, sanding the parts down I find is the safest, cutting can work, but you stand a much higher chance of breaking the part BTW does anyone know if the online exclusive MG Zakus of late are based off the 1.0 or 2.0 molds??? |
I'll have to look around stores here for paint, mainly because getting those from Japan is a no-go. Saw some gold and metallic gold the other day that looked nice. I guess the good part of the wings is that if I do decide to paint it and somehow the end result isn't satisfactory, there's always the sticker to cover it, lol.
Don't have access to airbrush though! So I guess I'll have to look into that when the time comes. Would hand painting it not turn out alright? Cause I guess that part's basically the only 'big' one I'll be (trying) to paint, the rest's all smaller and just trying to get some more details in, lol. |

Handpainting on second thought for your particular case should work, since its not a flat surface you are painting (the DX panels are textured), so brushmarks should be minimal at most |

But seriously guys, the future of gunplas looks grim for those who aren't filthy rich or live in Japan :( (at least for those who like the ones who are being made exclusives *coughHeavyGundamcough*). *glancing at cheap third-party products which have become better and better over the years* |
2 Cathedrals. Fuck it. Never bought P-Bandai before, this is probably the first and last time I'm doing it.

We've been doing a few of these, and trying to adhere to a bi-weekly live broadcast. Your normal weekday evening where most of us have time to build. Why not collaborate and virtually gather? Share some ideas, promote inspiration to build, or get answers to age old model questions easily found via google...
