They could still make it with the lower leg hollow. Just a thin inner frame put on the inside of the armor. As far as I can tell by the anime, that would be pretty accurate.

My additions:
Dynames
Kyrios
Harute
Throne Zwei
Flag
Zabanya
Exia RII (clarification for Nike: I'm kidding)
maybe, just maybe, a Tieren

Compared to stuff like the MG Zeta Gundam's and the MG Victory Gundam's, the Wing Zero's leg transformation should be nothing for Bandai on the MG scale. Even on that Robot Damashii model, there's still sufficient space for a leg frame under which the feet would tuck into. However, they'll still need to create a different frame for it to work. It'd be fragile as hell, but that hasn't stopped them before.

Are the knee joints/pieces interchangeable between kits? I am thinking of replacing the upper-leg-upto-knees of my Age-2 with G-Exes', but I wonder first if someone has checked this. Thanks if there's a reply.

I don't think the parts would fit without major modification. HG Age-2's lower leg is a simple sandwiched PC10 polycap construction (in which Age-2's upper leg plug into). But HG G-EXES leg design combines the knee and upper leg assembly; its lower leg parts just snaps into this combined part.

New pic of the HG Gundam AGE-3 Normal:

It now occurs to me that the transformation of the AGE-3 Normal is similar to that of the AGE-2 Double Bullet. Also, this would be the first time a non-HGUC HG kit has a double-jointed elbow for maximum articulation due to how it transforms.

Bashfulz 2012-03-15 09:21

the legs of the HG Age-3 looks really plain, the core fighter is a nice touch however it looks to be going to be pretty sticker heavy. :(

and those ass thrusters really reminds me of the dynames. :)

I do not know if you are aware that those transformed feet are blocks meant to swap with the non-transformed feet in the Neo Bird Mode ?

The biggest challenge I can see with a MG Wing Zero TV is

1) How should they balance the kit on that huge thrusters alone and keep it hidden from view in MS mode.

2) The need to make sure that the transformed leg stays lock in place with no parts falling off, especally the calf plates. The old 1/144, 1/100 and 1/60 kits releases in 95/96 was quite flimsy in this aspect.

But I have no doubt that there will eventually be a MG of the Wing Zero TV, given that Wing is one of the more successful TV series.

I am that the RD uses parts-forming for its feet. But I'm saying that given how the Wing Zero TV transforms, that should Bandai wrack their engineering team on it it shouldn't even be a problem to implement it. They managed to make a "perfectly" transforming 1/144, an MG should be nothing. Whether it'll actually be stable is another matter entirely, and I'm kinda expecting flimsy Exia-like ankles... or worse. Unless they pleasantly surprise us.

AGE-3 kinda reminds me of the V2 Assault Gundam, even only if it's the shoulders that remind me.
Can't say I'm impressed with it tho. Think AGE-1 is still the best looking one outta the 3.

Damn~ The Age-1 series was pretty cool and the Age-2 series was cool as well, but Age-3...wtf...

>_<

Looks too much like ZZ designs..a big departure from the original Gundam and 00 series design...

I like big and bulky and I love thrusters so I kinda like the Age3 myself.

I like big and bulky as well but sadly most big and bulky gundams don't tickle my fancy, they just don't quite come together very well.

I do actually like the V2 assault gundam that the AGE-3 reminds me of but just not impressed with the AGE-3.

firefox 2012-03-16 03:31

Age 3 reminds me of ZZ gundam mixed with V2. It's ugly, i don't like the underhand beam canon it's so wing mobile doll like

On the positive note, HLJ has another model sale and i bought a cheap 1/100 Arios gundam :). 00 1/100 models are really good quality wise.

Obelisk ze Tormentor 2012-03-16 06:54

I actually like the pic of the of AGE-3 Normal, but I don’t know about the kit later. I think it’s a lot better than the plain AGE-1 Normal. It's been a long time since we got bulky Gundam as main protagonist. I like the gun too, a variation at last ;).

Well they aren't very popular, you always have a bulkier gundam sidekick in just about every series, type Seravee or Heavy arms or Leopard

:eyebrow:
Not too sure if I want the MG series of Age kits.

As seen here on Titus, the new MG paradigm that started with Age does not lend well to showcasing inner frame detail.

maknaedik 2012-03-16 10:19

I like the Age-3 designs as well and I can't wait to see it in action.

Yikes, the inner frame for Titus SUCK! Oh well, it's not like I'm going to display it naked, but still, it could have been at least better than that.

You are going to see more of those simplified inner frame, going by the current trend. One could only hope that MGs from UC will be spared, considering the targeted market of the consumers.

suiton629 2012-03-16 11:14

I'm getting annoyed with the Age series now. I was going to get it but the Titus's inner frame being so HG quality-ish is making me second guess..

>_>

I still want to get you know what and I'm also trying to get 1/100 No Grade Exia (Roll Out Color). But damn. The Age kits..

>_>

The number of parts isn't an issue, but there is a big lack of molded details.
