Wow...Abyss/Chaos/Gaia? They will be single use frames?

Wouldn't it be easier to make Calamity/Forbidden and perhaps Raider with the existing frames?

They can reuse the frame from Zeta v2 and make a Murasame instead..lol:heh:

Now that they're bringing back the AW line, my hopes for an HGAW Virsago Gundam is back.:D

So. First they made TV shows as advertisements for the model kits.
Now they make an all new show as an advertisement for recycled pieces of old model kits? XD

Don't get me wrong, I liked Gunpla Builders. Mainly because that way we got to see some suits that were never animated before, like the Hi-Nu. But this new show does strike me as a little weird.

bio9205 2013-07-02 06:19

Wait, are those completely new molds, or reuse of old ones?

The show seems interesting. I just hope it has more depth than AGE. Nevertheless it's a good platform for Bandai to release updated models of old suits. I'm eyeing the HGAC Wing and the HG Wing Fenice. :D

Obelisk ze Tormentor 2013-07-02 06:23

Might as well name it Gundam Kitbash: The Animated Series. :heh:

bio9205 2013-07-02 06:31

Wait, they've given us all the pics, trailer and all... But no release date?

Anyway, this looks more promising than AGE for me, somehow. Even despite the fact that it's not a proper Gundam series, so to speak. Loving the new designs (even if they're somewhat recycled), and most of all, they're in HG 1/144, my favourite scale! :D

EDIT: Wait, silly me. It's premiering in October this year. That's earlier than I expected.

Gundam shows have almost always premiered in October. :heh:

Also, I'm hearing that the HG All Gundam Project is supposed to be a line that will remake all the primary Gundams using modern HG technology, so as to make kitbashing them easier.

Finally, someone needs to make that Gundam Build Fighters thread already :heh:

Knight-of-Gold 2013-07-02 08:07

The Wing, DX, Victory, F91 and V2 will be all new molds.
The customised anime designs will be mostly new molds with some old parts.
Wing is even the first of the HGAC line, expect more wing HGs in the future.

Bandai are NOT remaking the existing HG kits as most of them are already up to modern standards, they are just focusing on finishing the lead gundams in 1/144 at the moment. Turn A will likely follow the rest

justavisitor 2013-07-02 08:39

how small the F91, v, and v2 gundam are going to be? XD

I expect the prices are going to be cheaper for those 3 :D

Hopefully we'll see more HGs of suits that have never been made into gunpla before. For example, the Dijeh appeared in the trailer! Come on Bandai, this is the perfect chance for a HGUC Dijeh! :D

I expect it not to be that small. G Gundam is also supposed to be small than normal Gundam, but the HG of it is not that small.

Appel 2013-07-02 11:00

The difference in size get's smaller when you go down in scale.
For example:
In 1/100 scale the RX-78-2 is 18cm tall. The F91 is 15cm tall, that is a difference of 3cm.
In 1/144 scale the RX-78-2 is 12.5cm tall. But the F91 is 10.5cm tall, so the difference is now just 2cm.
So it's still tiny but the difference doesn't look as obvious anymore.

In 1/200 scale the difference would be 1.5cm and in 1/400 scale the difference is already less than a centimeter.
And to bring it to an extreme, in 1/1000 scale the RX-78-2 would be 1.8cm tall and the F91 would be 1.5cm tall. That is a difference of 0.3cm.

kakakka 2013-07-02 11:11

As a 1/144 collector, 2 cm is noticable. I cannot see even a cm difference between with my HG God Gundam (16.6m) and HG Gundam Exia (18.3m) (i.e. none).

So, I can only say HGAW, HGAC and Late HGUC might not be as strict with height difference, especially now they promote part-swapping.

That's a shame, the Strike and Strike Freedom are extremely poor kits and could use with a remake.

Ah well, one has a real grade and the other one will soon enough, they don't really need new high grades.

2cm are noticable but it isn't as obvious as a 3cm difference because in that scale all models look small^^

One of the build fighters is a modded GX. Instant buy.

2 cm is indeed noticeable. I also have both HG god gundam and rx-78-2, and their heights are almost identical. So it should be okay. (Tho If I have to choose, I don't mind that 2 cm difference as long as they lower the price accordingly :D)

Don't know which one to choose lol...double X is just another freedom, I would rather wait for the wing zero than wing gundam...V2 gundam might have a lot of extra equipment tho (the original wing of light, and buster-assault mode!!)

And a bit off topic, does the new gundam (gunpla) show have the same status like seed, 00, and age? (50 episodes in a good time slot + major promotion, etc) I thought it was like a SD gundam show at best :heh: I don't know how to react to the new show, gundam all of a sudden becomes pokemon and you will see kids (major characters) yelling at a stadium, pretending they are in the real battle XD
