Wow..that music. Great episode, the directing, characters, body movements, and everything so far impresses me.

Got a bit of humor with it too. MAPPA did well as I liked the animation quality too. Solid start. It's been quite awhile since I watched a show about figure skating but definitely going to keep watching this.

The only thing that's not working for me is the humour and the exaggerated reactions it feels too jarring and out of place.

The rest was a joy to watch, a real visual treat with highlight being the figure skating scene.

This was a great first episode. I'm not into these sports anime so I was pleasantly surprised. Everything moved at a nice pace to keep me interested and the interactions mostly felt natural. On the fence about the Russian guys but they haven't had much screentime yet. I feel like there's going to be something going on between Yuri(jp) and Victor since the undertones were quite heavy.

That was fantastic, everything I hoped it would be and more. I liked the comic touches which stop the show from getting po-faced, but the scene in the local ice rink where Yuri Katsuki does Victor's routine was stunningly well animated, I thought.

Probably the best thing I've seen so far this season.

oh my god where do I begin? One the OP is stellar. Two wasnt expecting the comedy bits but it worked, three VICTOR! Yep I'm sold.

The first episode well and truly exceeded my very high expectations for the show. Very good direction and pacing. The art and animation is oh-so-beautiful. A good sprinkling of comedy to not make it too serious. The fanservice for the women and those who like such does not bother me. I'm so all in for this show.

From one side, it is really well made direction, story and animation-wise. But from other side, huge amounts of fujobait is not my thing. For now I am watching but I don't know than the balance will go other way.

Oh, and they messed with the names in post-championship-conference scene that was in the news. I missed if they did the same during the first scene, unfortunately.

I expected different things based on the title

man this name is so "misslead" :heh::heh::heh: this show is more like "IAOI!!! on Ice, serious whenever i read this title and watch the episode, really make me feel the tittle don't really match the show even a little, i know which yuri don't only means girls love but is really hard to not think about it.

Well since he got NTR on episode one, i guess this is going full yaoi?

I am a awe, the episode is fantastic. The skating, the animation is so graceful and fluent!

Then I was reminded that they are going to dump so really distracting fujo-bait in this show...
Sigh. If they are really going to go that route, I pray it'll be a mature and serious relationship between Yuri and Victor, not some random man-service that should not be here.

Ep 01

I must admit that the premier episode was downright lovely in many many ways, but unfortunately two things held me back - one is a disinterest in figure skating to begin with, and the other is how the comedy repeatedly fell flat for me.

Such a pity too - I can tell that quite a bit of effort went into this series, but it seems others will have to reap the fruits of the staff's efforts.

I will give ep 2 a try as a just in case, but I dunno at the moment....
