Anime where the characters move
I don't care if it's one episode or multiple episodes but... I kinda need a bit of a pick me up right now.
I'll be moving out of my parent's house and in with a few friends of mine soon, and I just... I don't know, I want to see some anime episodes where the characters move in or out of their houses and somewhere else. |
Spirited Away?

Tonari no Totoro

Mahoraba: Heartful days comes to mind, since it's about a character moving to attend an art school.

5 cm per second!!
The anime film to watch when you're about to move away and are afraid of losing the bonds you have with the people around you. |
The protagonist of Ah! My Goddess! leaves his student dorm to move in with a girl who eventually becomes his girlfriend (and, later, her two sisters). Later in the series his younger sister is looking for an own place, and he helps her with this. Most of the series is not about moving though.

Ookamikakushi opens with the protagonist's family moving.

Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi
Move to a rural area because of his brother sickness. |
Hana Saku Iroha has that at the start.

The Ghibli film Totoro also has this element, but it is not a big focus. The movie events happen after the move. The Ghibli film Kiki's Delivery Service centers around the idea of moving as well, but the move is a voluntary act centered around the main character growing up and maturing. Quote:
**** Both Hanasaku Iroha and Usagi Drop (as regards to currently airing shows) both involve elements of moving to a new place and what happens afterward as well. Ookami Kakushi and Hoshizora e Kakaru Hashi (as others have mentioned) also involve moving at the beginning of the story, and it is because of the move to the new place that the story develops - but that is because the new place directly affects the main character(s). |
REC opens with a fire in the heroine's new apartment. Left homeless, she moves in with a young man she met the same evening.
The last two seasons of Nodame Cantabile involve the main characters moving to Paris and leaving behind many of the friends they made in Japan. Start with the first season, though, because it's still the best of the three. |
nana, good deal of drama but some inspirational aspects about it. about two girls named nana who are moving to a big city to find herself.
